Is that the same sized glass as Cadbury's use ? ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11427357

If it's pint-sized glasses you could be risking water intoxication.

I am now on glass 6 of 12. It is a one litre glass and has presented a problem. I can't get away from the bog long enough to go to purchase some cold cream. Not to worry though, I have a tub of double cream in the fridge, which I shall use, if I can make it to the kitchen and back to the bog again before I spoil my underwear.

Sleep for 8hrs???? Are you kidding!!!! by the time I've had 12 ltrs of water, I doubt I'll be able to go to bed at all, unless I rig up the garden hose from my person to the throne.

Ooer..... must dash.....

Let me in..... for pitty sake, let me in.......

Stone me! You must get knackered during a whole six hours awake. How do you do it?

OK, so I didn’t get to bed last night at all.

There I was attaching the garden hose to my (ahem) appendage, when the missus came into the bedroom.

“What the **** are you doing, you dirty old git?” She enquired at a rather high volume. Alas, before I could explain, she brought me a hefty clip round the ear which sent me reeling across the floor and resulting in the hose becoming detached from my person. This, in turn, led to a not inconsiderable volume of waste being unloaded from a certain internal reservoir, via my appendage, on to the bedroom rug.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, my traverse across the bedroom floor also resulted in the 1ltr tub of fresh double cream I had spread liberally over my person, to be largely transferred to the rug pile.

Unwilling to listen to my explanation, the missus then decided I should pay most severely for spoiling her bedroom rug. Slipping her right foot daintily into one of my steel toe capped boots’, she let swing ‘con mucho gusto’ (as the Spanish would say). My own boot connected with parts of my anatomy which can only be described as being among the most delicate and sensitive. Again, I found myself reeling. However, this time, not so much as a result of the transfer of energy which the clip around the ear had inflicted, but the result of great pain in the nether region.

Scurrying out of the room on all fours (though nearly, as a result of instantaneous swelling, all sixes), I managed to reach the safety of the garden shed, but not before my beloved heaved, with great might, my boots out of the bedroom window. The first struck me upon my bonce, causing me to dip my head. Unfortunately, this meant my nether region was the most prevalent part of my person, and the second boot struck me squarely in the colliwobbles (already suffering from the previous strike). It did, nonetheless, hasten my arrival inside the comparative safety of the garden shed, though, unfortunately, the door was closed and now has a giant cat flap!

Which brings me to the rash. With temperatures at sub zero last night, I soon found myself going numb all over. This at least was of some benefit, since I could no longer feel the excruciating pain in my private parts and so, eventually, fell into a rather disturbed slumber. I awoke to find a large icicle emanating from my John Thomas. Fearing I might break off more than I bargained for, I decided to sneak back into the house to try to thaw the aforesaid icicle. To my horror, I could not move. I had been set in a frozen pool of my own outpouring. My horror was increased all the more, when I realised that the cat flap I had inadvertently made in the shed door had allowed the local felines in and they were frantically licking the remains of the double cream from my now senseless skin. Such was the vigour of their attempts to get all the cream off, that I let out a loud yelp. A grave mistake on my part, since a few moments later, the shed door swung open. There, in the half light, stood her who will be obeyed.

She glared into the shed, her eyes like fire and seeing me with numerous felines licking my person, once again got wrong end of the stick. “Hose pipes, cream, wee and now cats!” she screamed “Have you no shame, you filthy, disgusting, dirty old git?” She then got the right end of the stick and begun beating me with it. As I recoiled, I became separated from the ice, but left a proportion of my epidermis behind. Braving the thrashing stick, I exited the shed in search of better protection. I slipped on the ice, landing on the pile of rock salt I had prepared for spreading on the garden path. Despite the numbness the intense cold had caused, where my outer layer of skin had been violently removed by my escape from the ice, I was now feeling a stinging sensation from literally having salt rubbed in the wound.

All the activity brought some warmth to my body and the numbness subsided leaving me in excruciating pain all over. I cupped my cobblers in my hand, to avoid further damage, scrambled to my feet and ran. Sadly, I ran head first into an unyielding tree and rendered myself unconscious. I awoke manacled to a hospital bed, with a police officer standing guard over me.

“You’ve got some explaining to do.” He said to me in a gruff voice.

And so it is that I have come to the conclusion that BC is very wrong.

Do not believe everything you read on the web.

Now, if you'll excuse me, the warder tells me I have some rocks to break.

My favorite comic when I was a kid was about a penguin named Chilly Willy. A distant relative, perhaps?

I did have a good laugh....
Neil's waterbed?

Back to the science side of Earth....

Water can come in a variety of forms from what comes from the tap...  or those fancy bottles that someone else fills with tap water, to  soda, juice, coffee, cappuccino, or about 95% of beer.

With a couple of caveats, your body really doesn't care what form it gets it water in.

A person's water requirements will vary with the ambient temperature, and their exertion level.

A good rule of thumb is to drink if you feel thirsty...  amazing!!!!
And, to drink enough to be able to urinate at least a couple of times a day.

Perhaps one risk of too little water (any form) would be kidney stones, and it is potentially a risk of taking vitamins such as calcium supplements.  So, with that in mind, a little extra water (within reason) is good.

You forgot to mention that most food also contains water.
A zillion years of evolution has equipped us to get enough water- it's called being thirsty.
It generally works very well.

Apparently animals in the desert won't eat a person who has died of thirst. Not enough water in them to make it worth digesting, I guess. Edit: oops I forgot about vultures.
