Are you logged into the website every time you are accessing the forum?

If you are logging in from your own computer, there is an option to "Always Stay Logged In".

The website keeps a record of the threads you've looked at whilst logged-in and marks the ones you haven't looked at as "unread".
If you're not logged-in the "unread" markers don't appear as then the website doesn't "know" it is you looking at the page, nor can it update the record of the threads you've read for the same reason : it doesn't know it's you looking at a webpage if you're not logged in.

[also this site recently has had an upgrade and may have "forgot" your threads-read info in that process ]

Actually, and I know this because it does it to me, it happens for some reason if you press the back arrow to look at another topic.

Good Point,

So the "read" topics will show up the next time you open the website, or if you refresh (Ctrl-R).
