Did mummies die of the same diseases we do?

Mummies dating back over 4000 years have confirmed that arterial disease was equally prevalent among our ancestors as it is today...

I don't remember where I recently saw it, but CAT scans of mummies from egypt, south america, and all the other places they could find them exhibited atherosclerotic lesions in their cardiovascular systems.

That means that if TB and Leopards hadn't gotten them first they were also at risk for heart attacks and strokes.
