Ironsand Like Chainsaw Possible?
« on: 24/03/2013 00:37:20 »
Alright; so ironsand can be vibrated at frequencies (not very knowledgeable on the topic as i'm asking).  If you manipulated electromagnetic fields by shooting a current through the ironsand and then manipulated it through magnetic's couldn't the current provide a violent enough vibration to cut through things if directed through the magnets?

Again; I have no idea on the topic, just a thought that is passing through my brain.

If this isn't possible, can you think of anything dealing with electromagnetic's that can cause this sort of phenomena?

You could certainly make a sandblaster.  Generally sand particles are accelerated with an air stream, but I suppose one could also do it electromagnetically.

With enough power, sand can not only strip rust and paint, but could probably do considerable damage to flesh.

How much damage could one cause before the energy caused too much heat and melted the sand?
