We pay just under 1UKP per litre over here (don't know exactly, but it'd be in the order of 8USD per gallon, although a slightly larger gallon).

Life is very expensive here in the U.K

Unleaded petrol is approx. $8.35. per gallon.

Bread, depending on quality and where you buy is about $1.70.

Love you lots

Holy Smoke Karen!  What type of bread is it??  Where are you at again?  I know there are more expensive brands, but I can still pick up a loaf between .50 cents and .99 for just regular bread..wow

You can get it cheaper if you go to the bread outlet, but you buy in bulk and have to freeze it. I don't like frezing it. The cheap plain bread is 2.50 white or wheat. Antthing fancier you move on up the scale! You can get winco's brand for about .69 cents here in Northern Calif.. Not good bread. I am afraid I like bread with some real hearty goodness. I guess thats why. The bread I buy is basic wheat, but a good brand and it  is reg. size loaf for 2.50, if I want nutty goodness seeds ect. way expensive and half the loaf size! crazy HUH!

My favourite is challa (with chopped liver), but these days, I have difficulty if I eat too much bread.  Biggest problem seems to be that most bread these days seems to be under baked – I like bread good and dark on the outside.  But even then, I am not sure if I have maybe just developed an intolerance to bread.

I'm sure there is an element of deja vu in this thread – I'm sure we were discussing bread with Neil a few months back.

Yep your right George, I miss Neil too! Aren't those funny? De ja vu's, that is? My grandma always said if you are having alot of them, it means you are on the right track in your life! She was a person of great insight! Thanks George, you just reminded me of some nice family memories with my Gran!

I suppose Challa and Chopped liver would remind me of my nan as well – but then, almost anything to do with food would remind me of her.
