~BLASTERS~
The plasma blaster rifle, one of the most epic scifi devices of all time. Every good futuristic movie cant do without blasters because every ones in a wile you gotta blast em. Many might argue that these so called blasters are closer to reality then you may want to believe. But how can it be done? How can I get my hands on a blaster rifle, I'll even make one if I have too!
In this day in age we have a tone of futuristic weapons ranging from light beams to teasers to rail-guns to electron guns, air-guns, water beams, microwave rays, sound blasters, flash bangs, gunpowder, radioactivity and more. The military at one point or another attempted to weaponize these "light-weapons" and so called "electrical based weapons".
But they seem to have failed at finding the perfect "super blaster" which would be better then a gun in so many ways that it replaces the gun. I wonder what type of energy weapon replaces the gun in the future, what it could be?
You know that sense it hasn't been done yet and you know people would want one if you had one, so If you made it then you could sell em and get as rich as this guy
So if you want to be a futuristic arms dealer then you might want to come up with your own blaster.
But you cant say that wouldn't be awesome to invent a blaster and go out to a firing range with it and shoot it like a gangsta. It would be one epic weekend project with one amazing prize.
I personally have an idea but I know it wont simply work because it would be somewhat dangerous and probably brake easily, but none the less here it I go. I imagine a weapon with only deadly potential as in this weapon will be lethal.
This weapon combines 5 main parts into a gun, magnesium ball/bolt, induction levitation coil, a rail gun barrel, power source and capacitor bank.
The first part of the weapon is a Magnesium bullet. Which is levitated and heated to combustion on a induction coil and fired through a rail gun. The magnesium bolt will become a liquid when firing and it will "splat" a target with white hot 6000 degree lava which could virtually melt anything but mostly catch stuff on fire. The bolt will appear as an ultra bright light. exactly like this, it will fly as fast as a bullet maybe slower.
no Armour can protect you from it when your stuck, it will stick to you and melt your Kevlar or steel like butter, it will be a painful death and you cant put it out ether, if you poor water on it then you only make it worse. No matter how thick the tanks Armour is the bolt can melt it and ignite fuel or tank rounds, it will burn for a good 2 or 3 minutes after its been shot. It has a foul stench, much stronger then gun powder and it would be pure destruction.
of coarse the capacitors would need like 5 minutes to charge and fire one round and it would take at least 2 minutes to heat the magnesium in the induction coil which uses a lot of power but other then that the whole thing can be cheaply built for about $2000 and you can get chunks of magnesium for like 10 cents a pop. way cheaper then bullets.

this video is a good demonstration of what the bolt would look like flying through the air this is me:

Well that's my Idea whats yours? I would love to hear other theories on futuristic weapons. just wright them in the reply section. Bye
PS: this is what a magnesium grenade would do :

Isn't that more or less what is being done with
depleted uranium
? Essentially an ammunition round that burns on impact. Speed, of course, is generally important with any military application.
Thermite
is also extremely hot burning, and apparently there are thermite hand grenades, although one of the uses is not destruction of enemy equipment, but rather the destruction of one's own equipment that is at risk of falling into enemy hands.

Indeed this invention would be a sort of "flaming projectile weapon" what sort of weapon can you come up with Clifford K? it doesn't Have to be a "gun" it could be a tank/jet or staff, rocket launcher or what ever want.
I bet at you posted about future weapons before so whats your invention Idea?

I'm not convinced we'll see beam energy weapons on Earth anytime soon, especially not hand-held models.
Projectile weapons will undoubtedly improve over time. As mentioned, there are already flammable metal rounds such as the depleted uranium rounds. Exploding rounds? Perhaps the Geneva convention will kick in in preventing weapons designed primarily to maim and incapacitate.
Guided missiles may be miniaturized to some extent, perhaps to the point of adding targeting vectors to rounds the size of ordinary bullets. Or, perhaps larger missiles will be designed to fragment, with each fragment containing a heat seeking missile. Fire a missile at an army outpost, and the missile fragments into 1000 anti-personnel heat seeking mini-missiles, taking out everyone within range.
Beam weapons in space wouldn't have problems with the atmosphere dissipating the energy. although long distances would cause sufficient delay that they may be hard to focus on a moving target.
I would foresee large telescope installations being built into the craters on the moon. Perhaps telescopes a mile, or a few miles in diameter. Point a monster telescope at the sun, and the energy recovered would be astronomical, if the secondary and any focusing lenses don't melt.

I see what you mean, weapons like the ones you speak of are already being made, but one thing strikes me about those types of weapons and that is expense.
this missile probably costs like 2 million dollars each, yes it can do all of these things and kill your enemy but at the cost of 2 million dollars. A lot of these new fanged weapons are way too expensive and are useless to a non-super powered nation, I guess those weapons are too expensive, they may be expensive but they do the job for a guy who needs it. This is why "beam" or energy weapons are so appealing to paramilitaries around the world because ammo is expensive, if you had a weapon that needed no ammo such as a laser weapon then your army would always have bullets and you don't have to pay for a crap tone of ammo all the time.
If you had an army which didn't have to be supplied with $5000 worth of ammo each then you save on a crap tone of money. $5000 x army size will save you millions absolutely millions of dollars. If you used my Idea of a weapon then you would still need to buy ammo but the cost per bullet will be almost nothing because the ammo is a bolt of one of the most common elements, magnesium.
Just take the current war in the middle east for example. one us soldier costs around 1million dollars wile an iraq terrorist costs around $10,000, an army of 100 terrorists would cost as much as a us soldier. The US soldier is way better armed and way better trained but even with his advantages 100 terrorists can defeat him. you see what I mean?

If mass produced, most of these million dollar weapons could likely be built for a few hundred bucks. Heck, there is a class of "drones" that are made using hobby-shop model airplane equipment. The technology packed into the modern cell phones is pretty extraordinary, and many can be 100% reprogrammed.
Have you read about
BF Skinner's Pigeon Guided Missiles
? Some of the Wikipedia links are interesting such as the
Bat Bombs
.
However, I would hope, however, that at some point, humanity will focus on taking care of the people we have on Earth, not killing them off.

Believe it or not, war is a necessary evil. If you took away war then you take away the ability to fight for freedom and what is right. Imagine for a moment that one day the entire world gets conquered, wouldn't that be bad? Isn't that the dream of most Evil doers? You see if the world was conquered, very quickly we will loose freedom because the world would have no pressure release system. If the politics of this one world nation turn evil or corrupt how would you do anything to prevent the corrupt from turning you into a slave?
Voting for this guy or that guy? Ha! in a one world corrupt government both parties work for the same puppet master. and were dose that leave you?
you see a lot of times war is a conflict between 2 leader's agendas, using people as playing chips in a ritual of destruction. but you take away one of the leaders and all your left with is a leader and an agenda, who still uses people as playing chips but now he now has no conflict, no one to tell him no you cant do that because its wrong. so this man can virtually do anything he wants.
this is why power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
If there was no war then I imagine a futuristic pharaoh would take power. which will force people to make him grand palaces and monuments of him.
So unless there is no more government and politics then no war would be a very bad thing. This is why I believe war is a necessary evil and I would gladly contribute to a new weapon of war. It may be hard to absorb but that's just human nature and that's just the way it's got to be.
