The Curiosity rover has found no evidence of methane in Mars's atmosphere, making it less likely to life lurks beneath its surface.

Are there "geysers" on Mars?  Perhaps the next probe should be sent directly to a geyser.

I would be very surprised if life was not found on Mars I subscribe to the Panspermia theory and even if it did not originate in that manner it certainly could have been transported from the nearby Earth that has living organisms in every nook and cranny by meteorites.
