Light Bending: EMF or Gravity.

So, can the EMF of a black hole be the cause of their interaction with photons? Why do we not see a White Dwarf distort background lights.

Both Neutron stars and White dwarves can deflect light by their gravitational fields but as they are very small by stellar standards you would need a very fortuitous line up for it to be apparent.
The effect has even been noted with a star of normal density i.e our Sun in Eddington's famous test of GR.

Could that not be because of the limitations of our instrument of observing and measuring extremely distant objects, like most small dense stars?
