Looking for art ideas
« on: 02/02/2014 13:56:50 »
Many years ago I was standing in the MOMA in New York,
looking at a painting which at first glance seemed abstract,
and then suddenly I recognized it at a tri-chrome stain of
fecal bacteria. The title of the painting was "Good Government."
Which made sense because while there was healthy normal
bacteria flora, there were no serious parasites, no tape worm
eggs or giardia or dangerous amoebas. I suspect I was the
only person standing in the museum that day that "got it."
Never the less, there was much to admire in the design and
colours, something I have often thought about when looking
at things under the microscope.

I like to paint and was just wondering if there was anything in
your particular field of interest that you have found aesthetically
pleasing and thought would make a wonderful painting?

Have you browsed the Science Photo of the week topic?

You may not choose to paint an exploding whale, but there are
many other interesting photos in there.

I think it would be interesting to see my memory of a particular set
of events on a canvas- with sounds and smells. A photo never
seems to do it justice... :(

What's that doing in a museum of bad art? I'd be happy to put that up on my wall.

Me too!  RD That is really beautiful...!  Cheryl have you seen some of those
"cancer cells," and different  types, strains,  species, genesis, or varieties of
"spirochetes" blown up? I am sorry about not knowing the proper terms
to use there. I have seen some magnified under the microscope and there
are really Quite beautiful considering how horrible the diseases might be in
which each one came from or may be associated with....
