Can planetary discovery methods detect wormholes?

With the exo-planetary discovery methods rapidly improving could we use the technology developed to detect wormholes. The axis of openings of certain wormholes would naturally be perpendicular to our viewpoint. The opening of the wormhole would have dramatically different properties than surrounding space and should have a signature that could be filtered from the general background like they do with the signature of exo-planets.
