reflection and absorption of colors
« on: 29/01/2003 04:02:39 »
My son who is a sixth grader needs some help with a science essay.

His assignment is to research the processes of reflection and absorption to learn more about how we see colors, including black and white.

please help with any information to get him started.

thanks

Seeing white = all colours are reflected off the object you see.
Seeing black = no colours (or very little light) are reflected off the object you see.
Reflection & Absorbtion = (not entirely sure) somehow the particles are "in tune" with the wavelength of the colours and reflect them, if not "in tune" they absorb them ... actually I wouldn't mind having that cleared up for myself ^_^
