It is possible to levitate objects with magnetism.

It is also possible to levitate objects with light.

One difference is that a static magnetic field will remain around its source, and decays rapidly with distance.
While light (or any electromagnetic wave) will propagate away "to infinity" (if it doesn't run into anything in its journey), and the individual photon will remain just as energetic (when viewed in the frame of reference of the source).
