Angelman's happens when the embryo's genes get messed up in utero.

A tantalising glimpse of a future cure -- perhaps -- was discussed in a recent "Radiolab" podcast describing the CRISPR  technology and its possible use in fiddling human genes-----someday. You can find it here...

It is a fascinating story and has implications straight out of "Brave New World", but ,who knows? 5 years ago I would have said impossible, but now perhaps...
