Is multiverse moving?
« on: 01/08/2015 19:34:10 »
Eternal inflation gives as infinite amounts of universes the multiverse (theoretically) My question is are all the universes moving? I mean is there a force like dark energy that push galaxies from each other in are universe a force similar to dark energy only on multiverse level that pushes universes from each other? Or are the universes not moving and just expanding from the point of inflation? Universe usually attempts at balancing things out in its own way, if there is a multiverse there's something preventing all the universes from colliding into each other maybe?

On human timescales non of this can be observed. The distances involved preclude observation as they are outside the available light cone. Dark energy may well be simply flattening spacetime and countering the curvature imposed by gravity If this were the case there would be no velocity component to the expansion.

There have been hypotheses advanced that there could be a number of "bubble universes" which are cut off from each other. However, if two of the bubble universes were "close enough", they might affect each other.

The cosmic microwave background is extremely uniform in all directions, so this doesn't provide any obvious hints - but then, the universe has expanded considerably since the epoch which originally emitted this radiation. If there were some interaction between bubble universes today, it's not clear how we would detect this.
