What residue do firelighters leave?
« on: 04/08/2015 17:50:01 »
Julie Fitzpatrick asked the Naked Scientists:

I am researching the residue that fire lighters (small inflammable bricks) may leave in ash and charcoal and what effect this may have on vegetables, using these products to promote growth.  The bricks contain 60% paraffin. 20% urea formaldehyde resin,20% water. .5% emulsifier .5% hyrdrochloric acid.

many thanks
Julie
