Vedran asked the Naked Scientists:
People of the past though that the earth is flat because that's how they saw it from their own view despite them having a proof in front of them which is round moon and sun.
Isn't is foolish to say that we only live once just because we see it from our own view despite us having a proof in front of us which is life cyclicality (after day comes night, after you fall asleep you wake up...).
Shouldn't it mean that after we die we get born again?
What do you think?

After we die, someone else is born.  It is called evolution. As night follows day, as you say, the cycle of death is what gave us life.  How many people died before you, so you could be born?  How many sperm died in the race so you could fertilise that egg.

To imply that falling asleep and waking up means you are reborn after death is a leap into the creative imagination and completely unfounded in any kind of rational scientific context.

The atoms in your body, with the exception of the radioactive ones, will definitely enjoy life after your death.

You are a unique individual - your body, brain, genetics, and life experiences made you who you are - they are you. They can't be duplicated and only stay together for a relatively short time, so make the most of being you: there will never be another you - when you die, all those things that make you what you are will disintegrate and be lost, and only other people will remain.

after you fall asleep you wake up...
But one day you won't. That is called death. Life is not cyclic: each day is different. I didn't write this yesterday and I won't write it tomorrow, so why should anything else repeat?

Why should anything repeat ?
Why do days repeat, in order for you to progress day by day, everyday is different than the last one.
Why do you wake up everyday after sleeping, in order to start another day and progress, everyday is different than the last one.
Why do you get born again after you die, in order to progress, every life is different than the last one.
Progress towards what ?  Towards perfection, towards the higher you, towards the higher evolution.
