How do I change Ag to AgCl simply please??

I have a 2mm dia rod of 99.99% pure silver.
How can I simply turn  / coat the outside of it to AgCl please?
Need it for my technology homework as I lost one I had in my room - even tidied it up and 6 hrs later still cant find it !!!!
PLEASE HELP

I think the "traditional" method is to electrolyse salt water or hydrochloric acid using the silver as the +ve electrode.

The first link does not work for me as I'm not a member and my allowance won't stretch that far but the second one should get me out of trouble
