It was probably a small baguette (my favorite)...or a small Emerald Cut !..

yes Pink diamonds are rare....but you can get them stained too....but I would never really want anything less than a white diamond.......getting a colored one , to me, defeats the object....you may as well get another precious jewel that is naturally that colour also..........in MY opinion....No offense to LO who I know has a black diamond !!

No not all mam.......there are naturally diamonds of all colours..pink, blue, black etc.......but then you are limited to the choice of hues and tones.but YES.....they are beautiful and VERY rare !!!

If you are are piccky then you can choose to have a white diamond artificially stained and then you can choose the colour of your choice.

I hope moccacake does not mind the change of route this thread has taken.

They're all lovely, but...just call me plain Jane.  White diamonds have always been my favorite stone.  They make me feel all warm and fuzzy. :)

The Green one IS a natural green diamond....though......this photo apparently does not do it justice at all

Just a plain old white diamond for me... preferably a 2ct. marquis cut on a platinum band with two baquette cut diamonds flanking either side of the rock.

but I'm not picky or anything....

the marquis shape is my favorite but really tiny.. That baguette is pretty, but I have only really seen a couple rings with that shape of a stone.. I love the heat, but prefer Marquis and Love diamonds any old way but must say I really like the geen one alot, as I have never seen one before!Green is me favorite color. If I were to buy a ring I would buy a plain Diamond as it would go with anything I wore as far as color is concerned. If I had money to spare I would splurge on the green Diamond because it would go against my more practial nature! It is good color!!

Quote
The family of a Blackpool man who died suddenly shunned traditional memorials in favour of a novel alternative - turning him into a diamond.

Mick Egan died of a brain haemorrhage last year and his wife of 30 years, Susan, wanted a fitting memorial.

The stone took 24 weeks to create but was completed in time for her daughter Celeste's wedding - allowing her to go down the aisle with her father.

"We think he would have loved the idea," she told BBC News.

The family wanted a unique way to remember Mr Egan and turned to an American company to create the synthetic diamond.

The process involves extracting carbon from the ashes of a loved one, before heating it to extreme temperatures to convert it into graphite.

Rough diamond crystal is then created in the special presses before being cut to the family's specifications.

"We had to have a blue one because my husband's eyes are blue. I never visualised that it would be so beautiful until it arrived," said Mrs Egan.

"He is my diamond geezer now.

"It was the right thing to do and it just brings me so much comfort that I've got it now to last forever.

"He loved being the centre of attention. He could light a room up when he walked in it.

"In some respects the diamond lights up, which is a memory of how he was."

The completed diamond arrived the day before Celeste Egan was married - giving her the chance to walk down the aisle with her father.

"It was emotional but it was nice emotion because I was pleased that it had happened and that I could have something of my Dad to take down the aisle with me," she said.

"It seemed like the right thing to do for us as a family and for my Dad - we think he would have loved the idea."

It is unusual because the technology for it is quite new (what we were talking about on another thread about the ever advancing technology for synthetic diamonds).

Yes.. As a young-un, I really do not see the point in "diamonds" :P They are expensive, small, but pretty, which I can agree to ;D

My parents have all white, and I like white best out of those colours. But, Neil, that blue shiny turquoisey one is soooooo lovely!

I can't believe how much rings have gone up since We purchased my wedding rings.. they cost us a whole 400.00 dollars way back and they are simple teeny tiny diamondsBasicly chips, not whole stones . I like dainty rings... Althought that green diamond is still calling my name when I see it!! LOL...I must say it is pretty uh but I bet it is also very pricey!LOL..

Hmm.. $400 dollars isn't alot.. But then again, the dollars are usually transferred straight to pounds, so everything in the UK is about 2 times expensiver than the US~! It's not fair lol. All the games console such as ps3, are like $400 in the US, and its about 400 pounds in the UK, which means about 2 times more. :o

And I really love that blue diamond!
