Does time pass differently for aliens
« on: 10/03/2016 21:58:49 »
Is it possible that the concept of time is different for intelligent aliens to that of ours ?, when we look for signs of alien radio communications should we look for a range of modulations that are well away from ours or are there physical restraints that would make them similar.

There's a lot of evidence that indicate predictions of General Relativity that differing strengths of the field of gravity dilate time at differing rates.

If there are aliens on extra terrestrial worlds, the likelihood that their field of gravity be consistent with ours pretty remote.

They would very likely have a different chemical composition, which could also skew their perception of time from that of our own.

However, I fear I must point out that illegal aliens may not abide by the laws of physics, as we do.

Which frequency, that's a tough call.   The folks of SETI have put a lot of thought into it.  Seems time dilation has little to do with their reasoning:

The range of differences between rates of time dilation only become significant near large dense masses. For "normal range" dilation it would hardly be a consideration. Unless the sender was travelling at relativistic speed.
