Does this look like a meteor strike?

Southwest of southern tip of South America, the circular feature north of the islands; overrun a bit by that overriding plate.  Is that a really old crater?

Nuts!  Southeast of South America!  Sorry about that.

I dunno what might interest you all but; this sure has me interested.  Looks like it used to be on the east (yes, east) side of the southern tip of (Africa+South America) before the mid atlantic rift got going: don't know how though.  Anyhow; it looks like there's a slip deformation on the bottom bit &, i can't imagine what happened to the northern tip of the crater.

Looks like an island arc to me, but I'm not clear of scale or precise location.

In the first photo there's a subduction arch to the lower right of the alleged crater; in the following two photos the subduction zone is cropped out.  The second photo is intended to give its location relative to southern South America.

The third photo outlines the alleged crater in red & some slip deformations in green.

Thank you. I was looking at the wrong thing. I shall try to take a closer look at this over the weekend. My suspicion is that this is just coincidental curved features. But then many of the now well established astroblemes were explained away in a similar manner.

I'm always suspicious of circular geomorphologic features, especially in submarine areas.

Thinking about going out to take a look at this but it's quite far out in the woods so I thought I'd ask around first. Could this circular shape indicate an old impact?

Let Bass have his way. The old coot could be WRONG!

Too obviously a circle - what else could make it? Bass, I ask you.

Huh? Huh? Huh?  The crust being squeezes between two continents like tooth paste?
