A New Theory of Everything: QuMe
« on: 11/05/2016 11:09:09 »
my theory is developed as a type of theory of everything that can actually be used for everything rather than just certain kinds of physical phenomena.

How would such a theory be possible? If we developed a workable theory of how perspective worked on the quantum level, it's possible. That's because perspective is how we come to know of anything and everything. Perspective is the only universal and common denominator of everything that we know to exist.

The idea is that everything that could possibly be perceived works in the same simple way because what we are sensing and experiencing is the simplicity of how perspective works rather than a complex and chaotic reality outside of our perspective. We look at the Sun and forget that we are not actually seeing the Sun for what it is but interpreting something as 'the Sun'.

Therefore, all we need to do to understand everything is understand how anything comes to have a reality in our perspective.

That's how Quantum Metaphysics (QuMe) was born.

Some additional points that can be found on the QuMe website (whose URL I cannot post here):

We Perceive Relationships, Not Things
When we perceive reality what we are actually sensing are the relationships and interactions between the things that we think we are perceiving, not the things themselves. This "empty space" between things enables us to perceive all reality, including what we think we're sensing directly.

Light Is Not What We Think It Is
Light is information about reality that can contract and expand. When it is contracting it is called mass (and time). When it is expanding it is called velocity (and space). This is the true dual nature of light. The resistance between these two forces is energy. E=MC2 is only a small part of the picture, as QuMe explains.

The Present Time Cannot Be Perceived
Our perspective can either have information about the field of relationships (the past) or the field of interactions (the future). When both come together we get the experience of the present time, a kind of energy of perspective. However, we can only perceive the resistance between the two (a now), not the present directly.

If you want to know more, or have questions, please let me know. I'm interested in making improvements to the theory.

Your Hypothesis has some good ideas in it, however it is not really a proper theory or a theory of everything.
I would call it a summary and Hypothesis.
I consider though it would be worth yourself pursuing it and trying to advance it.

Hi. Thanks for your post. If the definition of theory is, "an idea or set of ideas that is intended to explain facts or events" or, "an idea that is suggested or presented as possibly true but that is not known or proven to be true", how do you suggest it is not a theory?

Also, I am curious as to which posts in this forum ("New Theories") fit your definition of theory that I can look to for guidance on what to call it. I see only a few sketches of a few ideas, but perhaps I am missing something. (More in-depth material can be found on the Qmetaphysics website if you're interested.)

The central idea of Quantum Metaphysics is that everything that could possibly be perceived works in the same simple way because what we are sensing and experiencing is the simplicity of how perspective works, rather than sensing and experiencing things directly. On a very basic level, this can easily be proven (and already has). The theory takes this to its logical conclusion.

Any help would be appreciated.

A theory is in more depth and usually with added maths to support the theory. A page worth of speculation without evidential backup is hypothesis and speculation.
Although this is a new theory section, there is rarely a new theory in it, it is more hypothesis and speculation.  Belief and ideas mean nothing to science unless maths is provided or citations etc, you would be better spending your time thinking about something else in life.

Some interesting assumptions there, to be sure. But I have reasoned that a true 'theory of everything' does not rely on maths at all (and neither do most theories in all of the sciences, I would argue).

My theory relies on reason alone. (And where would any of the sciences be without this primary tool?)

I would also think a true theory of everything likely does not rely on the artefacts of any one domain - maths included - but is something that could be applied to all domains. It may even not appeal to most scientists because each has their own narrow field of interest and study.

What I have discovered is the essence of science - observation of reality itself. I have illustrated it with evidence across a wide range of fields.

Regardless, you've given me food for thought to make it more palatable to specific domains. I realize now that my theory requires a new kind of scientific thinking, so to speak. One that doesn't assume that reality can be observed directly.

Thank you kindly for the advice. I'll work on it :)
