How do we unify the four forces of nature into a single theory?

Namely the long sort after TEO

The search for the "theory of everything" has been the passion of scientists since Einstein in the 1910's, and has inspired numerous incredible new theories such as string theory and M-theory.

An answer to this question may even allow us to understand what came before the Big Bang, and the very origin of our Universe.

Maybe we will find God lurking in that final equation?

Find God? I think more accurately it would find (as there is much evidence to already suggest) that god is something that is absolutely unnecessary, and would hopefully once and for all show that it is nothing more than a manifestation of human nature's need to have that best friend that is always there besides them, that they can rely on, that will always listen to them, that they can put their faith in, that can help them have hope, that can make them feel as if they mean anything to anybody, to feel that unconditional love.  In other words, that it is merely a product of one's mental weakness and inability to handle reality on their own, to be able to handle the cold, harsh notion that they are simply at all times just on their own; rather than the product of anything grounded in any science or any notion of reality.

It is my hopes and expectations that the TOE would finally prove that the notion of a universal conscious creator is just completely unnecessary and ridiculous, and that human nature over time would finally begin accepting this scientific reality and that religion as a whole, thousands of years from now, would be regarded as something relegated to the annals of time but no longer something taken seriously by society.  Hopefully then science and reality would rule the day.   That is my hope and passion with the TOE, that it would hopefully accomplish.

As far as it being the most profound quest?  I'd have to say that it is overall, if a survey of all physicists was taken.  However, on an individual basis it obviously also is highly subjective, and for some in physics their quests may be far more targeted and specific, dealing with their own personal passions.

::) ::) ::)

You maintain your ugly sarcasm, so I reject you as a descent person, as well as all that you have said since the sad day you joined the forum with the "utter, complete, disdain, contempt, scorn, and disrespect it merits!!

You put three rolling eyes in my attempt to engage you in a polite decent non-insulting way and yet you continue on with your insults regardless. thus my extremely unlikable very pleasant "friend", you have now more than earned my total ignorance and I hope other members follows my example goodbye!

I know you have been warned by a moderator about your ugly attitude, but it is apparent now to me and everyone else who reads your puffed up nonsense, that nothing of reason can penetrate your very thick skull!

I've been warned by no one.  Furthermore, my posts are fine, and I merely call it as I see it.  In this case, your little overdramatic and completely unnecessary, condescending and mildly arrogant "hey, you're talking with good english and blah blah blah so I'll reply to you" nonsense was deserving of nothing more than one huge eye roll.

Want polite discourse?  You might want to start with your own approach.

The only one throwing insults here is you son...

All this, because I rolled my eyes at you...  Do you not have the capacity to comprehend how utterly ridiculous of a reaction that is?  You might wanna sit and ponder that for awhile...
