Hello. So i am debating with friends. if what happened in the horrible Wolverine movie about him getting shot in the head is possible in the fiction world or reality with equivalent materials. Not even close but yeah...

So. If a plate of this X material strong enough to say take a tank cannon directly and end with not even a scratch or dent. Bullets do even less.
If i make a bullet of the same material. Does it then damage the plate of that X material ?

Isnt the force of the bullet just not enough to damage the material even if its of the same strength ?
That's assuming it has the same shape as a normal bullet from a handgun.

In my opinion it should not even dent the plate. If the plate is that strong as to take a cannon hit directly. Why would anything going at the speed of a bullet from a hand gun and with that little mass do anything to it ?
