Are Melatonin Levels affected by sleep patterns?
« on: 28/03/2007 23:43:33 »
Ok so I'm a college student and I sleep at 5am and wake up around 11am or 12 pm. Are my melatonin levels severely affected by my sleeping schedule? I have my huge chair blocking the light from having direct contact with my eyes and I sleep on the floor, so the light doesn't wake me up. But I heard of an experiment by Cornell that light can be shined on the back of one's knee and still affect melatonin levels. I'm worried this will affect my memory. Should I change my sleeping schedule around and should I expect a much better memory by sleeping during melatonin peak levels?
