Zebra's marking are unique to each animal, this is how you can tell one from the other. If one was to shave a Zebra, would it's "fur" grow back with the same markings?

Since all animals (including humans) will have their hair fall out, and be replaced with fresh hair; thus if the fresh hair is always the same colour as the hair it replaces, then it would make zero difference if the old hair was shaved off, or just fell out naturally.
