need a procedure to decect co in air
« on: 27/03/2004 09:06:35 »
Hello, I tryed many research and I could not find a procedure how to do the this lab

I am going to use (probley an hand pump) impinger to collect Carbon Monoxide before ...during and after rush hour air.

My question is How do you operate an impinger?
How do you prepair the sample from an impinger for Gc/MS?
What woudl the oven programing be in Gc/ms?
Will i need to enter any delays for MS?
What is the timing for indentifying CO for that certan timing?

thanks for your help in advance

You can buy CO detectors at any hardware or home supply store that will give you accurate concentrations in ppm.  They plug into an AC outlet, so you could get an AC adapter for your car and drive around sampling areas.  It's not quit as accurate as using real analytical equipment, but it's probably good enough for most purposes.
