Not ice-creams as in the cones, with cream-like ice-cream on them.. But the hard ice creams. They stick to our tongue. Why?

The only reason I can imagine is that they are creating a layer of ice on your tongue, and the ice locks into the crevices on your tongue.

Hmm.. So your tongue, for that short time, freezes?

Your tongue doesn't stick to icecream, for long, anyway because the icecream warms up too fast. the surface of the icecream melts almost instantly when you lick it, sticking your tongut to cold metal on the other hand is not reccomended.

The reason flesh sticks to metal is that the moisture on your skin freezes on contact, bonding it to the metal. metal is an efficient conductor of heat and can easily disperse the warmth from your fingertips, say, but ice isn't and can't.

I also wonder if there is a vacuum suction thing happening here as  result of the curvature a tongue can be in concert with the differences of temperature too !!

Now look at this:

Nice isn't it ?

Apart from the fact that I hate artificial cherries which taste really really sweet and tastes fake! I like the real cherries, which has a seed in the middle and you spit it out ;D
