I was a chemistry major before I was a geologist - thus, a congenital disdain for geochemisty. You forgot mineralogy (for those who are not geologist, etc., this is the study of the crystal structure and how it got that way)

hey! what's wrong with geochemistry?  I did biogeochemistry and it was dead hard.
