That is true stefan although you are in the chat section and the formalities are a bit different in here! This is for getting to know other members and asking perhaps a bit less scientific questions, although those are good also!
However it is not a dating or pick up joint ! LOL

More than just asking and wait for a reply by Chris or George...
It would be nice to have some original contribution posted here:
the result of readings, information sharing, wiki-flights or Google-surfing and any other way to create a scientific topic right here.  To show our young newbie-hero Seany a proper way of doing things...and help him in his studies as well.
Proper topics, more than simple questions, might probably stimulate more a discussion, and could be 'grabbed' easily by people outside this forum.
Me think

Nice to have a little chat here, now and then.. I do remember to ask some questions that are a little science-related. However, most of them are in the General Science section.. ;)

I think it is important to remember which sections your science

questions should be asked and reserve this section for less

scientific based questions, or questions that don't fall into the

realm of any of those science categories! That is what this

section has always been about. I have gone back to the beginning

of Chat.. It has always been more a social area of the forum. I

think it is important to maintain that, with some guide lines of

course.  I do not feel any of you are being FORCED to post

elsewhere or should you be, but in the fact that you do post here,

WE hope that YOU all do as I have done and SPREAD YOUR WINGS to

the SCIENCE AREA now and again as YOU begin to feel COMFORTABLE!

READING and STROLLING through and ASKING QUESTIONS when need be.

ROBERT , a long standing member once told me to question and not

be afraid to ask questions! He said, "QUESTIONING IS GOOD." I felt

very uncomfortable about asking my silly questions, BUT I started

ASKING!... After LAST WEEK I believe Robert to be RIGHT! I HAD A

SILLY QUESTION ABOUT MY TONGUE! IT MAY have meant NOTHING at all,

BUT in THIS CASE it meant I get to BE HERE WITH YOU ALL a lot

LONGER , and THAT is a GOOD THING! Ask questions, DON'T feel

PRESSURED, READ the FORUM!! PARTICIPATE WHEN YOU ARE READY!!

QUESTION even when YOU FEEL SILLY! I'll borrow this from Martha

again! "It's a good thing!"
:D :D ;D

That's not quite how I meant it. This is supposed to be a science site - & a top-class 1 at that - but anyone new coming here and looking at the most recent posts when I started this thread would have seen things like "What colour is your poo?", "Your favourite cookie", "Do you sing in the shower?" and the like.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not against the chat type posts - I thoroughly enjoy them & probably post more of them than I do science ones. I was merely passing a comment.
