Humans have been getting progressively taller due to better diet etc. But do you think there may come a time when population pressure & scarcity of food resources will cause us to start getting smaller again?

Most of the human population is facing problems of survival.
Yes, for the rest of us lucky ones, another World War would probably do it.

Is that the only reason, or is there some individual selection going on? People may tend to "choose" tall people to procreate with, and therefore "weed out" the shorter genes. If this is the case, then there may be a reduced probability of getting shorter again.

Just a thought!

Little humans we see around and in power positions too
do not seem to be bothered by any "weed out" effect.
Neither do their shorter genes!

Dentstudent - reports that I've read suggest that better diet is the main reason.
