What, where and how is quicksand?
« on: 08/06/2007 04:13:05 »
:-\I only took one geology course when I went back to college, and never did get a chance to ask the teacher about quicksand.
What is quicksand?  How is formed? Where is likely to be, in case I'm hiking somewhere and I'm not familiar with it, and, is it really deep enough for people to be swallowed up in it?
I only know legend when it comes to quicksand. I'm sure the stories I heard were probably not accurate, but folklore.
