Have yo heard of Szaldi or Oppenheimer?

These guys worked on the first A bomb. Oppenheimer was American And Szaldi came fro Hungary and became a US citizen. I think the spelling is correct.

Check out the book "The Making of the Atomic Bomb" by Richard Rhodes.  It is an excellent (it won the Nobel Prize) history of the project and has a lot of biographical information on the scientists.  Even with all that it's very readable.

I believe by "Szaldi" you must mean "Leo Szilard".

I still think that it is unforgivable the way we treated Oppenheimer after the Manhattan project. His loyalty was apparently questioned because despite his hard work to invent The Bomb, he was not thrilled to see it used. Why did we pick on him? It is noteworthy that since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, we have never used a nuclear device in war- which is exactly what Oppenheimer apparently hoped would happen.
