Turnng Plastics into Oil - A Recycling Miracle?

At first glance this looked amazing:

Plastics can be bombarded with microwaves, in a vacuum,  to crack the hydrocarbon chain.  The products are made into gases.  Natural gas (methane, I think) would be tapped off and the remaining hydrocarbons turned into oil.  Can this type of process save some of our world's energy problems by recycling trash plastic?
