Let's have a "Whinge Of The Day" thread
« on: 13/08/2007 19:51:58 »
Here's my contribution for today.

Drivers who pick their noses in traffic jams.

There must be millions of them because every time I'm stuck in a traffic jam you can guarantee that the driver next to me will have his finger rammed up his nostril.

But the worst thing is that I can't help myself continually snatching quick peeks. It's not that I have a morbid fascination with the contents of other people's noses, nor do I have a fetish about nose-picking. No, what I want to know is what do they do with the bogies (boogers in the USA)?

Do they wipe them on the seat? On the floor? Flick them out of the window? Eat them? I just have to know! That's what irks me most about them; the fact that I have this overwhelming inquisitiveness about their method of disposal. Tut at them and TUT! at me!!  [:(!]

i cant stand little kids in traffic jams. when you get beside a car with kids they always end up doing some delinquent act just to tick the guy next to them off

Our local council is on a gravel-surfacing kick at the moment. 10mph or 20mph limits all over the place.  [:(!]

I agree to a point.. but was actually happy to have my kids drive. My older boy, I told no license until he was 18 as he had demonstrated so little regard for responsibility  for his own life that I made him wait. I am glad I did and am proud of him for changing his utterly careless attitude and becoming a more responsible person.. It may have been Harsh but he understood and never went against the decision.

Agreed, and BTW Eth - are you a TOG?

And there sould be a re-test when you get to 60......

I get tired of sitting behind people who dodder about, can barely see over the wheel, and do about 30,000 revs while they reverse, slipping the clutch like a wet seal on a banana skin.

I also dislike the fact that you still have to drive at 40 mph on a 6 lane motorway at 3 am, when there's noone else around, for example, the last time I went around Heathrow. And of course, the whole thing was monitored by countless cameras. My next car will be the Johnny English Aston and fire rocket launchers at Speed cameras.

TOG? Tetchy Old Git? Oh yes!

I know what you mean about 40mph on a 6-lane motorway. When I drove to Kent a couple of weeks ago I went round that section and they had the variable speed limits in force due to fog. Fog? Eh? It was a nice, clear day!

On the way back, further round the M25 (Reigate way, I think) the speed limits were in force again (50mph). No reason given that time and it went on for at least 5 miles.
