Anastasia has a shampoo that is purple in colour, why does this not turn her hair purple when she applies it?

Easy, the dye does not adhere to her hair.  It'd be like using watercolors to shampoo...they'd just wash off in the shower (unless of course you shower with something like CCl4 or benzene).  The dye in the shampoo is water soluble.  The only reason that shampoo is purple is for marketing purposes.

Or, even better, why don't we buy some purple ink and mix it with the shampoo and then take it back to the shop saying we actually wanted another kind? [8D]
