This time I came prepared. When I entered the funeral home I took 20mg of Zolpidem. It calmed me down greatly. I was able to handle the tense situation.

Funnerals are generally very difficult to deal with as no none ever knows what to say, and no matter what you say you seldom if ever are able to ease the grieving persons distress at their loss. Death is hard to deal with and people try to prepare for it, but no amount of preparation, in my experiences help ease that final loss.. Only times eases the pain.. It never totally goes away, but it does become something you can handle better. Still it hurts, but most of us eventually are able to cope, in some form or another..
I am sorry for your loss, and wish that it had not been so difficult.
I am glad that the medication helped a bit.

I find funerals few and far between, but sobering as to the reality of life in mortality.
It makes me think of dualism. Personal loss. And eternal life, destiny. I hold all those people are still conscious, somewhere. Of course I think of Jesus and the way he made in death.

I'd like to dig the grave for my nearest and dearest. I find digging holes very stress relieving. I think funerals are essential for saying goodbye but hate the sandwich bit at the end.
