That's quite good because it gets over the fact that although stars are mostly quite a lot bigger than planets it is the space between them that is absolutely vast.  It is just about impossible for two stars that were not formed in close proximity to each other to collide.  whereas galaxies collide with each other quite frequently  (if you can describe any event that takes hundreds of millions of years to happen as happening frequently in a universe that has only been around for about 15 thousand million years )
