Fantastic idea - 375 quid for a cycle helmet is a bit out of my price range though.

I've seen the bicycle airbag links before.

In the film clip RD posted, they show a lot of images of bicycles being hit, middle of the car, from behind. Yet, I think that is rare. I think the most dangerous thing is for a car to pull from a side-street onto the road, either too close for the bicycle to stop, or hitting the bike from the side. How protective is the collar for front impacts?
Are there statistics on false positives (deployments in absence of an accident), or false negatives (accident without an impact)?
Is the airbag impacted by clothing, hoods, backpacks, or hair?

In a face-plant scenario I think you'd be better off with a conventional helmet. The inflatable "invisible" one looks a bit loose. Unfortunately the video stops here so you don't get to see if it protects the forehead or gets pushed back like a hood exposing the noggin to the tarmac.

It may help with whiplash though, which could be a good thing.
I wonder if it will be tested on Indy cars (or for those outside of the USA, F1).

That's really cool.. I have never seen one!
