Title: Can I Use Washing Up Liquid To Wash Hands And Hand Soap To Wash Plates ?
Post by: neilep on 26/11/2009 14:55:07
Dearest Peeps Who Frequent The Chemistry Section !...nice section eh ?

As a sheepie I of course luff to wash. On my birthday in February it'll be time for my annual wash and so I thought I'd ask this question in good time to prepare.

See these two liquidy soapy things (by the way they are both Non Newtonian Liquids..me knows stuff !)

Two Liquidy Soapy Things

Nice eh ?..being delivered next Tuesday

Notice how I turned the piccy into grayscale to add that film-noir effect ?...(see how I think of how things please your eye ?..I'm a kind considerate sheepie !)

Now then, one of them is for washing plates which will then have food on it that will go in my gob...the other is for washing hands which (as a thumb sucker) will also go in my gob !.....Is it OK to wash my plates with hand soap and wash my hands with platey soapy  should I want to ?

What's the differences between the two ?..they both wash yes ?
..and both are Non Newtonian !

If ewe could see your way to answering this before February I would be moist grateful !

Hugs et les shmishes

mwah mwah mwah !!

Well.. you could, but the results would depend on the actual formulation of each.

Scented or moisturising hand soap will be designed to leave something on your skin, either the perfume or the moisturising agent.  Washing up liquid will be designed to lock up as much fat and oil as possible, depleting the natural oils on your skin.

Thanks Ben. Ben is great ! I find this very helpful. So washing up liquids don't leave anything behind and are better at repelling fat and hand soaps manage to leave a moisturising agent behind and maybe a scent too !

How does the moisturising agent and scent thwart the rinsing process ?

See these two liquidy soapy things .....

The first handwash can be used by contaminated people. The second soapy liquid is for use by fairies.

Is that granite? Better get a Geiger counter - er, rather than a kitchen counter.
