Hey all,
I'm currently off South West Coast of Ireland. Can't work out if this is a fin or sei whale. Any ideas?
(Taken roughly 2.5km away)
Thanks,
Sam

Most likely fin which usually seen late summer to December on S Coast.
Sei is smaller so less easily seen and tends to go in small groups.
If you saw large blow followed by fin surfacing then it's fin, with sei the blow and dorsal are seen together.
Hope you see more and closer so you can get firm id
Thanks for posting

Yes, send us your location!
Did you log your position? Could be worth sending a report to http://www.iwdg-shop.com/sighting.php?sid=x they would probably confirm the id.
