Actually, just because IT has the shape of a female is it right to call it ' her ' or ' female ' ?
-
Now that's very good, but I still don't think she (it) will be replacing the real thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl7Ww5-J6V4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl7Ww5-J6V4)
Oh I don't know though!!!

Well people call boats and cars 'her' so why not a robot?
-
She is very pert!

Why was that model carrying a watering can? (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fclueless%2F1.gif&hash=ba6e884e2ac18d739c0e89967c82862b)
I've seen a few of those walking robots and I've noticed that none of them straighten their legs when they walk and that's what makes them so obviously artificial. I assume that's because it's harder to get the balance right with a straight leg. Or is that they're all made with haemorrhoid trouble? Does anyone know for sure?
-
I didn't see no watering can (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fclueless%2F1.gif&hash=ba6e884e2ac18d739c0e89967c82862b)

What!!? You can't miss it. Big, green thing in her right hand.
-
But I watched the 1.20 odd second video and I couldn't see a water can. [???]

I think they've all got really uncomfortable underwear, so it causes a constant wedgie.

In Don's link? It's 13 seconds.
-
What link? First you say RD, now you say Don! [???]
-
Oh that link! I thought you meant the first link! [:D]

I got it wrong and edited my post accordingly.

D'OH! I did say "model" not "robot"
-
Yeah, sorry Sir, I did not realise. [:I]

The peculiar gait is due to the insertion of many D-cell batteries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_battery). [:)]
-
It's described by the BBC as a "Life-like walking female robot". OK, I accept it's a robot that walks; but in what meaningfull sense it it lifelike or female?
BTW,re "The peculiar gait is due to the insertion of many D-cell batteries ." where? or does that answer part of my earlier question?
-
If they're inserted into the back passage then that would certainly account for the odd gait!
-
Plus the constant wedgie.
-
Verily
-
I've seen the odd few real women walking like this on occasions, I shall not speculate on what batteries may have to do with it!
-
BTW, Neil, you wanted a robotic ewe......
(https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geeksaresexy.net%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2008%2F07%2Frobotic-sheep.jpg&hash=9420a81fc422a07e805164eac586b1f5)
Here's the story http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2008/07/15/mower-the-robotic-lawn-mowing-sheep/ (http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2008/07/15/mower-the-robotic-lawn-mowing-sheep/) Watch the video, I think it may turn ewe on!!!
-
"Moe" the sheepish lawnmower sounds like it needs a few squirts of WD40. [:)]
-
Is that sheep a lawnmower?!? [:o]
-
Has anyone else noticed there's an advert for robot kits at the bottom of this page? How'd they do that, then?
Do they have a list of potential advertisers just waiting for certain keywords to be used in the title? Or is it just a coincidence?
I bet when I've posted this reply the advert will change. Just to make me look like a robo-pratt.
-
It's gone!
Bugger!
-
It's gone!
Bugger!
How come no adverts for buggers ?
-
I was going to delete my last two posts because they made me look stupid. Now you've quoted them I can't.
Double bugger!
-
And now you can't delete your last reply because I've quoted you quoting me! What am I going to do now to save face?
I'll just have to bomb the Naked Science offices and blow up the server. Anyone know where Chris lives?
-
It is the Google bots sniffing your posts. They select an advert that contains similar content to the post.
-
Oooooh, that's darned clever. I was beginning to doubt my own sanity for a moment. I'm going to keep refreshing the page and if it comes up again I'm going I'll copy and paste it's image in this thread. Just to bring the topic back round to robots again!
-
I know you're not going crazy. [:)]

Wahaay. You've saved the day yet again. I refreshed the page about 25 times and it eluded me (although I could hear it mocking me from within the ether of web).
Aha Google Advert. Who's laughing now? a? a?
-
Is that sheep a lawnmower?!? [:o]
Aren't they all?
-
Oh yeah! [:D]
I didn't even realise. [:)]
And I'm surrounded by them!
-

Good job its not the other way around, the Google posts sniffing your bot!!!

I don't know, I've never been there!
