Will all governments be, eventually, forced to limit child births in order to control population?  The food supply is becoming very limited and some measure must be put in effect to keep people from starving.  Thanks for comments.  Joe L. Ogan

Ultimately, I think they probably will.

Unfortunately, some of the great religious leaders are so utterly screwed up about sex that they are not helping in the least.

In many places; the UK is one of them, the birth rate is already less than the death rate.
It tends to happen when society gets fairly well organised and the infant mortality rate drops; people realise they have a better life with just a few kids each of whom is well cared for.

Bored Chemist is correct. There is a direct relationship between birth rate and the amount of good education the population of a country receives. In countries where not all children receive a full education the birth rate is much higher. This is why "A good education for all" is on the UN rights of the child charter and is one of the Millennium development goals. I can forsee a time when this is taken seriously rather than doing what they did in China.

I read recently that one unfortunate side effect of the Chinese sytem is that it has produced a generation of spoiled brats!

It has produced a generation of about 20 million men who will not be able to find a woman to marry.  Thanks for comments.  Joe L. Ogan
