Title: Victim of an Adult Site Blackmail Email Hoax?
Post by: chris on 24/07/2018 18:25:11
Just to make everyone aware, in case some people are at risk of falling victim to this, there is a particularly nasty malicious email scam currently being operated.

The message arrives from a range of names, including "Stefan" and "Jim Grodberg", who introduce themselves by announcing that they know your password, and they say what it is.

The mail then goes on to say that they hijacked your computer while you were looking at an adult site and used your computer's webcam to film what you were up to as you viewed.

The message ends by instructing you to send several thousand Dollars worth of bitcoins to an address within 24h or they will email a video of you, together with what you were watching, to all of your contacts.

However, do not be alarmed - THIS IS A SCAM. It is given authenticity by the inclusion of the password at the message opener, but many people are commenting that the passwords they see printed are indeed passwords they have used, but a long time ago.

This is the clue to what is going on here. The senders of these emails are using passwords and email addresses stolen during historical data breaches to add extra credibility.

Incredibly, some people must have been looking at a lot of porn, because tracking a handful of the bitcoin addresses being used shows that the scam has already netted the senders at least $50k this week.

At the Naked Scientists we have received a few of these mails; here is what they look like:

Quote
{PASSWORD} is your Password. I won't beat around the bush. You do not know anything about me whereas I  know alot about you and you're probably thinking why you're getting this e mail, correct?

You may be thinking "how?", I setup malware on sex vids (porn) and do you know what, you accessed this porn website to experience fun (know what I mean?). When you were busy watching video clips, your web browser started out working as a RDP (Remote Control Desktop) having a key logger which provided me with accessibility to your screen and your camera controls. After that, my software program gathered all of your contacts from messenger, facebook, and mailbox.

What have I done?
It is simply your misfortune that I stumbled across your blunder. I then invested in more days than I should have looking into your data and generated a double screen video. 1st half shows the video you were viewing and next part displays the video from your cam (its someone doing dirty things)

What can you do?
Honestly, I'm ready to forget all about you and allow you to get on with your regular life. And I will present you a way out that may achieve it. The two options are either to ignore this e mail (not recommended), or pay me $2900 to finish this mattter for life. Let’s explore these two options in depth.

First Choice is to turn a deaf ear this email. You should know what is going to happen if you opt this option. I will send your sextape to all of your contacts including family members, colleagues, etc. It does not shield you from the humiliation your family will must feel when friends uncover your sordid videotape.
Other Option is to send me $2900. We will call it my “keep the secret charges”. Now Lets discuss what will happen if you pick this path. Your secret Will remain your secret. I'll erase the videotape. After you make the payment, I will let you move on with your daily life and family as if nothing like this ever happened.

You will make the payment via Bitcoin (if you don't know this, type "how to purchase "bitcoins" in search engine)
My BTC Address: 14VKMR13H67yVwUftEWYZfje1ruBS6k6d5
(It is case sensitive, so copy and paste it carefully)

Important: You now have one day to make the payment. (I've a special pixel in this email, and now I know that you've read this mail). DO NOT TELL anybody what you will use the Bitcoins for or they possibly will not offer it to you. The task to get bitcoin will take a day or two so do not delay.
If I don't get the BitCoin, I will send your videotape to all of your contacts including friends and family, co-workers, and many others. however, if I receive the payment, I will erase the sextape immediately. If you want to have evidence, reply with "yes!" and I will send your video recording to your 11 contacts. It is a non negotiable one time offer, so kindly do not ruin my time & yours by replying to this email.

Please, be reassured; these nefarious operators do not have any video of you; this is purely a scam and has been reported to fraud agencies in a number of countries.

Things you should do if you receive one of these messages:

1) If the password they cite is one that you are still using, CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.

2) Check out https://haveibeenpwned.com/ - this is a database of the passwords and email addresses stolen during known data breaches. It will flag up any sites that were compromised and were holding your data. This will warn you where to change your passwords.

3) Report the email to your relevant authority. Type "Report a cyber crime" into a search engine.

4) If anyone else receives  a message like that above, please reply to this thread and post yours here too so that we can keep track of what's been sent to people and give recipients some reassurance.

Scary stuff...

Just one more reason to get (or improvise) a lens cap for your webcam. It's unhackable and practically free, and all you have to do is remember to take it off before your video conference starts (and then put it back in place before picking your nose, or singing along to Miley Cyrus, or *ahem* whatever else you would worry about being shared with the world...)

I was thinking about this this morning; do people make gadgets that can strap on to existing laptops? I cannot easily see how one could add something like this to - say - my present laptop without a severe aesthetic consequence...

I use a square of Post-It note* over the camera. Cheap, easily removable, easily replaceable, and not too ugly!

And certainly a lot more secure than the traditional use of Post-It notes on computers - to record the login password...

*Other brands of self-adhesive notes are available...

Here's the latest one to arrive today:

Quote
{PASSWORD} is one of your password now Let me get straight to the point. You do not know me whereas I know you very well and you must be thinking why you're receiving this e mail, right?

I actually placed malware on porn video clips (pornography) and you know what, you visited same porn website to experience fun (know what I mean?). When you were busy watching videos, your device started operating as a RDP (Remote Computer) that has a backdoor which provided me accessibility to your system and also your camera access. Immediately after that, the software gathered all your contacts from your messenger, social networks, as well as email.

What have I done?
It's simply your hard luck that I saw your bad deeds. I then put in more days than I probably should have exploring into your life and prepared a two view videotape. 1st part shows the recording you had been viewing and second part shows the recording of your web cam (its you doing inappropriate things). As a family man, I am ready to remove all about you and let you move on with your daily life. And my goal is to present you a way out that can make it happen. These two choices are to either ignore this email (bad for you), or pay me $1300 to close this mattter for life.

What should you do?
Let's examine these two options in more details. First Choice is to disregard my e mail. Let me tell you what is going to happen if you opt this option. I definitely will send out your video recording to all your contacts including friends and family, coworkers, and so forth. It doesn't save you from the humiliation your household will face when family and friends find out your unpleasant videotape. Wise choise is to make the payment of $1300. We will name this my "privacy charges". Lets see what happens if you select this choice. Your dirty secret Will remain your secret. I will destroy the recording. Once you pay, I will let you keep your lifetime and family that none of this ever happened. You'll make the transfer by Bitcoin (if you do not know how simply type "how to purchase bitcoins" on google)

My BTC Address: 1D7CiFnCrGsGdvtgZgGoYUApJ4vENwdmBm
(It's cASe SENSITIVE, copy and paste it carefully)

Important: You now have one day in order to make the payment. (I've a unique pixel in this email message, and at this moment I know that you've read through this message). You must not explain anybody what will you be sending the bitcoin for or they may not offer it to you. The process to get bitcoins usually takes a few days so do not delay. If I do not get the BitCoin, I definitely will send your videotape to all of your contacts including friends and family, coworkers, and so on. nevertheless, if I do get paid, I will destroy the videotape immediately. If you really want evidence, reply with "yes!" and I will send out your video to your 13 contacts. It's a non-negotiable one time offer, so please don't ruin my time and yours by responding to this e-mail.

So it's largely the same, except the English is still tragically poor, the price has gone down (must be getting desperate) and the number of people they'll send the "evidence" to has climbed to 13 now - unlucky for some...

These people have been writing to us for about 2 weeks, each time giving us 24h to pay up before they mail all our contacts with compromising videos of us; in the same breath they counsel that it can take several days to lay your hands on the bitcoins.

No saucy videos sent to our contacts...yet. Do let us know if you receive a video of a naked scientist doing something really naughty, like opening an email, or making a radio programme...

Please don't fall for this anyone.

I get loads of scammers in my email account, nothing like the thread topic though.  Everything from mystic megs to unmissable offers.  Most of them lead to bitcoin lol, be careful of the small print and lots of these scams, you get a click next option on some, if you click next they will charge you for sending you texts at £1.50 a text.  Be careful what you click on or to avoid anything like the thread topic, simply get a PC tower and do not have a web cam.   I ''play'' with these scammers, they are good fun to troll , I am sick of getting the bank scam .  I trolled them for ages lol, had them convinced I was going to fall for it ahahaha.   They were rubbing their hands ahahah until I dropped it on them.

The most spectacular blackmail I received so far is this:

Daddy you didn't say what the most effective thing about God is.
You must play too.

Really not sure what that cryptic message is supposed to mean at all!   ;)

This one is from "e" - "admin@warheads2foreheadsproductions.com"

You'll note that the price is now even lower - we're down at US$600 now, so this appears to be bargain bucket porn guilt revenge. Clearly it's worth keeping the spammers waiting - the longer they wait the lower the price. At this rate they will be paying me!

More seriously, this message is almost certainly not written by the same group; it uses shoddy English, contains none of the plausibility of the first wave (that contained passwords for added authenticity) and has a totally different tone.

Amazingly, the "soft" also waited for the (presumably hard) viewer to have an "oanaism" before it saved their contact list. Clever - computer software that can remotely recognise the moment of an "oanism". Shame it still can't implement spellcheck really.

The most likely explanation is that this is a bunch of people piggy-backing off the idea of the first lot, who actually made themselves a reasonable amount of money out of frightened people who paid up.

Please don't fall for this scam. But also watch out for the websites you visit - many are now incorporating all kinds of nefarious code with consequences like cryptojacking (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/articles/interviews/what-cryptojacking)...

Have you considered searching for the IP address of the sender in your logs and forward this blackmail to your authorities?

You may also want to block the IP address in your firewall to prevent further attempts like this.

Most people watch porn and or masturbate I would not be horrified at a video of me doing it was put out on the internet .
I certainly would not pay to avoid it happening I would call their bluff and ask them to show a sample of what they have (they of course have nothing!) which would shut them up

I would call their bluff and ask them to show a sample of what they have

You probably shouldn't do that because then they will know that your email address is active and that you are actually reading their mail. Then they may target you more intensively in other ways, for instance with nasty attachments that can deploy toxic payloads at your machine when you open them. For instance, you might get a document that says something vague, like: "The pics you requested" or "Your document" - and although this looks to be a .doc or a .pdf file, it's actually an executable, and if you are operating your machine as admin (which heaps of people stupidly do for the convenience of not having to type in passwords to access various functions and updates) then the executable will happily run with admin privileges and hijack your machine, probably installing a back-door that you won't know about.

The best approach is to report the threat and make it public, like we are here, so that people can see that it's a hoax and to look out for it, and then put a block on the email of the sender, and then delete the source message.

Definitely do not send any response and do not open any attachments from these people. And definitely don't pay them, because then they know you are a pushover with a guilty conscience and they will never leave you alone...

Cue the COPYCATS - here's the next generation of these exploitation emails; my one just arrived; here it is so you can see what they are saying this time. Sadly these scammers appear to have fallen on hard times and cannot afford a spellchecker or master a basic grasp of English. They've also neglected to realise that I don't actually own a webcam or have an active camera on any device I use. And maybe they're broke because they are asking such bargain basement prices - this lot want only $829 from me to spare me destruction of my reputation.

It goes without saying, of course, if you receive these, DO NOT PAY!

This is pure flannel; they have not hacked you; they have obtained an old password that you used to use for sites like Sony, TalkTalk, Adobe etc, all of whom have been hacked themselves in the past and had their user databases stolen and circulated, together with the passwords people used for those sites.

This exploit is gambling that, by mass-mailing huge numbers of people, some will use the same password for everything (bad idea) and will not have changed their password. These poor people will believe this and be tempted to cough up. Don't! Just hit the report as phishing scam button and delete it.

Hello!

I have very bad news for you.
03/08/2018 - on this day I hacked your OS and got full access to your account XXXX
On this day your account XXXX has password: XXXX

So, you can change the password, yes.. But my malware intercepts it every time.

How I made it:
In the software of the router, through which you went online, was a vulnerability.
I just hacked this router and placed my malicious code on it.
When you went online, my trojan was installed on the OS of your device.

After that, I made a full dump of your disk (I have all your address book, history of viewing sites, all files, phone numbers and addresses of all your contacts).

A month ago, I wanted to lock your device and ask for a not big amount of btc to unlock.
But I looked at the sites that you regularly visit, and I was shocked by what I saw!!!
I'm talk you about sites for adults.

I want to say - you are a BIG pervert. Your fantasy is shifted far away from the normal course!

And I got an idea....
I made a screenshot of the adult sites where you have fun (do you understand what it is about, huh?).
After that, I made a screenshot of your joys (using the camera of your device) and glued them together.
Turned out amazing! You are so spectacular!

I'm know that you would not like to show these screenshots to your friends, relatives or colleagues.
I think $829 is a very, very small amount for my silence.
Besides, I have been spying on you for so long, having spent a lot of time!

Pay ONLY in Bitcoins!
My BTC wallet: 18YDAf11psBJSavARQCwysE7E89zSEMfGG

You do not know how to use bitcoins?
Enter a query in any search engine: "how to replenish btc wallet".
It's extremely easy

For this payment I give you a little over two days (exactly 55 hours).
As soon as this letter is opened, the timer will work.

After payment, my virus and dirty screenshots with your enjoys will be self-destruct automatically.
If I do not receive from you the specified amount, then your device will be locked, and all your contacts will receive a screenshots with your "enjoys".

I hope you understand your situation.
- Do not try to find and destroy my virus! (All your data, files and screenshots is already uploaded to a remote server)
- Do not try to contact me (you yourself will see that this is impossible, I sent this email from your account)
- Various security services will not help you; formatting a disk or destroying a device will not help, since your data is already on a remote server.

P.S. You are not my single victim. so, I guarantee you that I will not disturb you again after payment!
This is the word of honor hacker

I also ask you to regularly update your antiviruses in the future. This way you will no longer fall into a similar situation.

Do not hold evil! I just do my job.
Good luck.

And they're back!

Here's today's offering:

Quote
Hi, stranger!

I know the XXXX, this is your password, and I sent you this message from your account.
If you have already changed your password, my malware will be intercepts it every time.

You may not know me, and you are most likely wondering why you are receiving this email, right?
In fact, I posted a malicious program on adults (pornography) of some websites, and you know that you visited these websites to enjoy
(you know what I mean).

While you were watching video clips,
my trojan started working as a RDP (remote desktop) with a keylogger that gave me access to your screen as well as a webcam.

Immediately after this, my program gathered all your contacts from messenger, social networks, and also by e-mail.

What I've done?
I made a double screen video.
The first part shows the video you watched (you have good taste, yes ... but strange for me and other normal people),
and the second part shows the recording of your webcam.

What should you do?

Well, I think $741 (USD dollars) is a fair price for our little secret.
You will make a bitcoin payment (if you don't know, look for "how to buy bitcoins" on Google).

BTC Address: 16LBDius3vg6ufFvnc7PGXfiTZgphuZgr5
(This is CASE sensitive, please copy and paste it)

Remarks:
You have 2 days (48 hours) to pay. (I have a special code, and at the moment I know that you have read this email).

If I don't get bitcoins, I will send your video to all your contacts, including family members, colleagues, etc.
However, if I am paid, I will immediately destroy the video, and my trojan will be destruct someself.

If you want to get proof, answer "Yes!" and resend this letter to youself.
And I will definitely send your video to your any 13 contacts.

This is a non-negotiable offer, so please do not waste my personal and other people's time by replying to this email.

Bye!

Usual collection of atrocious grammar...

@jimbobghost - you should add them to my rogues gallery - as @RD has highlighted several times, if these posts are made readily google-able it slightly reduces the victim rate - here's the link - and remember to strip you own personal data from the post, but feel free to leave the abuser's details in there - you never know, someone might send them a phishing scam email... ;)

Here's our first one of 2019:

The sender is a delightful "zaifyjok@yjuqoo.com"

Quote
I am well aware XXX is one of your passwords. Lets get directly to point. There is no one who has compensated me to check you. You may not know me and you are most likely thinking why you're getting this mail?

in fact, i placed a software on the X video clips (pornographic material) web site and you know what, you visited this website to have fun (you know what i mean). While you were watching video clips, your browser started out operating as a RDP with a key logger which gave me accessibility to your screen as well as web camera. immediately after that, my software program collected your complete contacts from your Messenger, Facebook, and email account. after that i created a video. 1st part displays the video you were watching (you've got a fine taste hehe), and 2nd part displays the view of your web cam, yea it is u.

You have got just two options. Shall we check out each of these choices in particulars:

Very first choice is to ignore this e-mail. as a result, i most certainly will send your very own tape to every bit of your personal contacts and thus you can easily imagine concerning the disgrace you can get. and likewise if you are in an intimate relationship, exactly how it will affect?

Next choice will be to compensate me USD 996. Let us describe it as a donation. in this case, i most certainly will straightaway delete your video. You can go on with your way of life like this never occurred and you are never going to hear back again from me.

You'll make the payment by Bi‌tco‌in (if you do not know this, search 'how to buy b‌itcoi‌n' in Google search engine).

B‌T‌C‌ ad‌dre‌ss: 18z5c6TjLUosqPTEnm6q7Q2EVNgbCy16Td

[CaSe SeNSiTiVe, copy & paste it]

if you are wondering about going to the law enforcement, okay, this email message cannot be traced back to me. I have covered my actions. i am also not looking to ask you for a huge amount, i simply want to be paid. e mail if i do not get the ‌bi‌tco‌in‌, i will, no doubt send out your video to all of your contacts including members of your family, co-workers, etc. However, if i do get paid, i will erase the video right away. If you want to have evidence, reply with Yea! and i will certainly send out your video recording to your 6 friends. This is a nonnegotiable offer thus do not waste mine time & yours by replying to this email.

Maybe they could spend the $996 on some English lessons?

Please everyone - don't fall for this tripe - never engage with these people and if you receive an email like this, post it here so that others on the web can see them and will realise it's a hoax. Whatever you do, never pay. It's a hoax. Regrettably, all too many people are falling for this...

Oh, I have read about this before but never in such depth! Thank you for sharing this. The members are so helpful on this forum.

"Jim Grodberg" made up name i'd say , the only person named Goldberg i "know of" is quite reputable, far from the bad grammar (gammar ?) this thing uses,
He's (Mark Goldberg) also quite interesting for his involvement in quite immense a home built 4 seat light aircraft STOL that you can build from plans and source the "materials and parts" yourself , or buy as main kit , quick build kit , and firewall forward. You should see these they are fantastic !
https://bearhawkaircraft.com/
http://hartzellprop.com/bearhawk-aircraft-blazes-trails-3-blade-hartzell-prop/

Plans cost around 550 AUD or (290 British Pound)  for the STOL version
Building completely to takeoff estimate if your like me and can recondition an engine, weld arc/MAPP e.t.c. , fit , trim (and vehicle electronics fitting and modifications) e.t.c.
is around 25,000 AUD (13,500 British Pound)
Quick build and else assistance's is around 70,000 AUD (37,500 British Pound)  fully completed to takeoff
What is a STOL?
4 seat Bearhawk  ( Empty Weight 1150-1550 pounds  (varies w /builder /engine /prop) )   -  youtube.com/watch?v=1vxXDyHv2hw

2 seat Piper cub superstol (Empty weight: 750 lb (340 kg) )  -  youtube.com/watch?v=2q8fBMpJ_kE

but all in all that's disappointing you have nothing to come out with as a pervert ....dang

I'm getting at least one of these a week now. Although the authenticity and the quality have declined. The copy-cats are obviously getting desperate and flogging a dead horse to wring out the last few bitcoins. The new departure here is that they have given up on using the "your password is [insert old password stolen from a site that got hacked years ago]" ruse and started replacing the sender and from headers in the email to make it look like they sent the message from your own email system...

Quote
Hello,

As you may have noticed, I sent this email from your email account (if you didn't see, check the from Sender email ID.)

In other words, I have full access to your email account.

I infected you with a malware a few months back when you visited an adult site, and since then, I have been observing your actions.

The malware gave me full access and control over your system, meaning, I can see everything on your screen, turn on your camera or microphone and you won't even notice about it.

I have also access to all your contacts.
I made a video showing both you (through your webcam) and the video you were watching (on the screen) while statisfying yourself.
I can send this video to all your contacts (email, social network)!

You can prevent me from doing this.
To stop me, transfer exactly 700$ with the current (BTC) BITCOIN price, to my bitcoin address.
If you do not know how to do this, Google - "How to buy Bitcoin".
The wallet you can create here: www.login.blockchain.com/en/#/signup/ - to receive and send BTC.

My bitcoin adress is: 1AiBJcWZYQrz5Z9S9X7nYNueznU7iU5V5h

After receiving the payment, I will delete the video, and we will forget everything!
I give you one week to get the bitcoins.
Since I already have access to your system, I know when you read this email.
Don't share this email with anyone, this is our little secret!

It's been relatively quiet on this front for a bit now, but today we saw a comeback; a new desperado is trying his luck to scare / scam people into paying up.

Here's the latest one

Hi,

The following won't take too much of your study time and so right to the condition.

I acquired a footage of you spanking the monkey when at a pornweb site you are stopped at a fantastic ass software,
I have managed to put on a few web sites with that type of content hit.

You click play button and all the digital cameras and a microphone begin working in addition, it will save every damn detail from your OS,
for example contacts, passwords and crap like that, guess i got this email address from? )

So now we all know just who i will send that to, just in case you aren't going to negotiate this negotiate.

I'll place a account wallet address down below that you can send me 580 \$ within 50 hours maximum via bitcoin.
Notice, it isn't that huge of a sum to cover, guess this makes me not that awful of a person.

Oh, I almost forgot! Password from <insert email address here>:

You are welcome to do whichever the **** you wish to, however if I will not find the total amount within the time period mentioned over,
well... you undoubtedly know what will occur.

And so it is your responsibility at this point.
I am not gonna go through all the info and crap, simply don't have time for that and you likely know that world-wide-web is overloaded with mail similar to this,
so it's as well your decision to trust in this or not, only one way to find out.

Here's the BTC wallet address: 1Pn75nAXcD3RLJVaBdARVYnqTwWwvn2yjR

Enjoy yourself and keep in mind that wall clock is beating.

Whoops - they forgot to actually insert the email address / password, the one element of the earlier campaign that scared people into believing this twaddle. These are clearly a lower calibre of scammer.

Got to love the line "just in case you are not going to negotiate this negotiate"; what a tremendous command of English they have.

Why are sites that pander to infantile ideas of what sexual activity should really be like called "Adult" ?

Hello!

I am a hacker who has access to your operating system.
I also have full access to your account.

I've been watching you for a few months now.
The fact is that you were infected with malware through an adult site that you visited.

If you are not familiar with this, I will explain.
Trojan Virus gives me full access and control over a computer or other device.
This means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on the camera and microphone, but you do not know about it.

I also have access to all your contacts and all your correspondence.

Why your antivirus did not detect malware?
Answer: My malware uses the driver, I update its signatures every 4 hours so that your antivirus is silent.

I made a video showing how you satisfy yourself in the left half of the screen, and in the right half you see the video that you watched.
With one click of the mouse, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on social networks.
I can also post access to all your e-mail correspondence and messengers that you use.

If you want to prevent this,
transfer the amount of $500 to my bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, write to Google: "Buy Bitcoin").

My bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is:  3NHjM67AmCMjgpFyPrETQ5oe8NWVR4h448

After receiving the payment, I will delete the video and you will never hear me again.
I give you 50 hours (more than 2 days) to pay.
I have a notice reading this letter, and the timer will work when you see this letter.

Filing a complaint somewhere does not make sense because this email cannot be tracked like my bitcoin address.
I do not make any mistakes.

If I find that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will be immediately distributed.

Best regards!

This scam is a pretty good one.  I consider myself pretty tech savvy, and upon seeing my plaintext password in the email my heart sank for a second.  Then I remembered I had setup a basic POP3 mail account that was definitely not on SSL and they were probably just intercepting it somehow.

It's crazy what lengths they'll go to, to scam people.  I just received an SMS this morning with my name, address, and an "offer to buy my house".  Crazy.

They're back!

After a long hoax hiatus - who knows, perhaps they were taking a long time buying a new email font (judging by their latest message) or taking some courses in how to write really poor English - our porn-threat extortion fans are back with a new offering for April.

Interestingly, they do have a new tactic, which is to use various character sets that won't render properly so the message is disguised from spam filters.

However, if you extract all the tags and funnies - and then collect them - you can see what they are using. Put this into your spam filter to help detect and get rid of these losers.

Low-budget porn hoax spammer

Your Christmas bargain-basement low budget spammer is flaunting his wares this week, evidenced by this generic effort:

Quote
Hi!

Unfortunately, I have got some bad news for you.
Several months ago, I have obtained access to the device you are currently using to browse the internet.
Since that time, I have been monitoring your entire internet activity.

Being a regular visitor of adult websites, I can confirm that it is your sole responsibility for any consequences.
To keep it simple, the websites you were visiting have provided me with access to your data.

I’ve uploaded a Trojan horse to the driver system that keeps updating its signature several times per day, in order to make it impossible for antivirus to detect it. Moreover, it provides me with access to your camera and microphone.
Likewise, I have backed-up all the data, including photos, social media, chats and contacts.

Just recently, I have come up with an awesome idea to create the video in one part of the screen, which shows the way you cum, while the original video was simultaneously playing on another screen. That was really fun!

Rest assured that I can easily send this video to all your contacts with a few clicks of my mouse, and I believe that you would like to prevent this scenario from happening.

With that in mind, here is my proposal:
Transfer the amount equivalent to 1490 USD to my Bitcoin wallet, and I will forget about this whole situation. I guarantee that I will also delete all the data and videos permanently once the payment is received.

In my opinion, this is a so-called modest payment for my hard work.
You can easily figure out how to purchase Bitcoins with help of search engines like Google or Bing, because that it’s not difficult at all.
My Bitcoin wallet (BTC): 1Eo9FKmAkNg8UAR4xj6F15Y53phFutzSys

You have 48 hours to reply and you should also bear the following in mind:

It makes no sense to reply me — the email address has been generated automatically.
It makes no sense to complain either, since the mail as well as my Bitcoin wallet cannot be tracked.
Everything has been organized with precision.

If I ever detect that you mentioned anything about this mail to anyone – the abovementioned video will be immediately shared, and your entire contacts list will be the first to receive it. Afterwards, the video will be posted on the web!

P.S. The countdown timer will automatically start once you open this mail. (This program has a built-in timer).

Good luck and take it easy! It was just bad luck, so next time please be more careful.

Now I'm thinking...
🤔
Just a meagre laptop with basic configuration...& Three weeks of self learning on DeepFakes Studio Technology...

Just about Anybody could take facial images from Anyone's FB or Insta account & use DF Tech to make a Realistically Fake Sexual Video of theirs.
🙄
Hmm.

P.S. - Even if Someone in actual records Real footage of the Target & spreads it to the Victim's contacts...
Could the Victim just not say it's DF Tech at work?
Who the Heck is gonna spend hundreds of dollars to recheck & reverify the recording from an animation & vfx expert?
🤔
(Except for if the Victim has a suspecting Wife)

Is the Scamming process still going on?

Or have they Switched to new Tactics?

Why on Earth are Cyber Police/Cops so helpless Worldwide?

Do VPNs play a part in this?

Should there Not be stringent punishments & sentences for Cyber Criminals?

P.S. - Saw Alot of videos of Microsoft Scam & IRS Scam on Utube...felt Pity for the Victims...Anger for the Perpetrators...but was also aggrevated by the helpless attitude of the LAW!

And they're back!!!

This is the newest Christmas Present we've received from these low-lifes:

Quote
Hi, I'm sorry but You're going to have a bad day:

Approximately few months ago I have gained access to your devices, which you use for internet browsing. After that, I have started tracking your internet activities.

Here is the sequence of events:
Some time ago I have purchased access to email accounts from hackers (nowadays, it is quite simple to purchase such thing online). Obviously, I have easily managed to log in to your email "chris@thenakedscientists.com" account, if you don't believe me, just see header of this email ;) One week later, I have already installed Trojan virus to Operating Systems of all the devices that you use to access your email.

In fact, it was not really hard at all (since you were following the links from your inbox emails).

This software provides me with access to all the controllers of your devices (e.g., your microphone, video camera and keyboard).
I have downloaded all your information, data, photos, web browsing history to my servers.
I have access to all your messengers, social networks, emails, chat history and contacts list.
My virus continuously refreshes the signatures (it is driver-based), and hence remains invisible for antivirus software.

Likewise, I guess by now you understand why I have stayed undetected until this email...

While gathering information about you, I have discovered that you are a big fan of adult websites. You really love visiting porn websites and watching exciting videos, while enduring an enormous amount of pleasure. Well, I have managed to record a number of your dirty scenes and montaged a few videos, which show the way you masturbate and reach orgasms. If you have doubts, I can make a few clicks of my mouse and all your videos will be shared to your friends, colleagues and relatives. I have also no issue at all to make them available for public access. I guess, you really don't want that to happen, considering the specificity of the videos you like to watch, (you perfectly know what I mean) it will cause a true catastrophe for you.

I've also a good news!
You transfer $ 1800 USD to me (in bitcoin equivalent according to the exchange rate at the moment of funds transfer), and once the transfer is received, I will delete all this dirty stuff right away. After that we will forget about each other. I also promise to deactivate and delete all the harmful software from your devices. Trust me, I keep my word.

This is a fair deal and the price is quite low, considering that I have been checking out your profile and traffic for some time by now.  If you don't know how buy bitcoin:    1) https://buy.chainbits.com/?crypto=BTC    OR    2)  https://buy.moonpay.com/

Here is my bitcoin wallet:   1MBA6abprsfy92MZ89PjLA8i5BM7jLmpSU

You have less than 48 hours from the moment you opened this email (precisely 2 days).

Things you need to avoid from doing:
- Do not reply me (I have created this email inside your inbox and generated the return address).
- Do not try to contact police and other security services. In addition, forget about telling this to you friends. If I discover that (as you can see, it is really not so hard, considering that I control all your systems) - your video will be shared to public right away.
- Don't try to find me - it is absolutely pointless. All the cryptocurrency transactions are anonymous.
- Don't try to reinstall the OS on your devices or throw them away. It is pointless as well, since all the videos have already been saved at remote servers.

Things you don't need to worry about:
- That I won't be able to receive your funds transfer.
- Don't worry, I will see it right away, once you complete the transfer, since I continuously track all your activities (my trojan virus has got a remote-control feature, something like TeamViewer).
- That I will share your videos anyway after you complete the funds transfer.
- Trust me, I have no point to continue creating troubles in your life. If I really wanted that, I would do it long time ago!

Everything will be done in a fair manner!

One more thing... Don't get caught in similar kind of situations anymore in future!
My advice - keep changing all your passwords on a frequent basis

The funny thing is that their attempt to dupe the email system to appear to be posting a message from me to myself actually produced an error, which was sent to me by our mail host, which is, in turn, how I obtained the text of this message!

Remember - THIS IS A SCAM. Do not fall for this; and if you have received a similar message, please share it here.

We're getting new variants of these emails faster than Covid churns them out!

Here's this week's offering form another desperately sad scammer.

Please remember folks, THIS IS A SCAM. They have not compromised your computer and they don't have any recordings. It's easy to spoof emails to make it look like they are coming from your own address.

My computer doesn't even have a camera, or two screens come to that, so how they magically gained access to a non-existent camera and monitor is a mystery.

Quote
Hello!
Have you recently noticed that I have e-mailed you from your account?
Yes, this simply means that I have total access to your device.

For the last couple of months, I have been watching you.
Still wondering how is that possible? Well, you have been infected with malware originating from an adult website that you visited. You may not be familiar with this, but I will try explaining it to you.

With help of the Trojan Virus, I have complete access to a PC or any other device.
This simply means I can see you at any time I wish to on your screen by simply turning on your camera and microphone, without you even noticing it. In addition, I have also got access to your contacts list and all your correspondence.

You may be asking yourself, "But my PC has an active antivirus, how is this even possible? Why didn't I receive any notification?" Well, the answer is simple: my malware uses drivers, where I update the signatures every four hours, making it undetectable, and hence keeping your antivirus silent.

I have a video of you w*****g on the left screen, and on the right screen - the video you were watching while masturbating.
Wondering how bad could this get? With just a single click of my mouse, this video can be sent to all your social networks, and e-mail contacts.
I can also share access to all your e-mail correspondence and messengers that you use.

All you have to do to prevent this from happening is - transfer bitcoins worth $1490 (USD) to my Bitcoin address (if you have no idea how to do this, you can open your browser and simply search: "Buy Bitcoin").

My bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is: 1Q7oKyU8HWEZk2RhP9AapqdnuCy9p3TUAq

After receiving a confirmation of your payment, I will delete the video right away, and that's it, you will never hear from me again.
You have 2 days (48 hours) to complete this transaction.
Once you open this e-mail, I will receive a notification, and my timer will start ticking.

Any attempt to file a complaint will not result in anything, since this e-mail cannot be traced back, same as my bitcoin id.
I have been working on this for a very long time by now; I do not give any chance for a mistake.

If, by any chance I find out that you have shared this message with anybody else, I will broadcast your video as mentioned above.

If you receive a message like this, using the above Bitcoin address, just mark it up as SPAM and dismiss it; definitely do not pay them and definitely do not worry about it.

If I wanted to, I could impersonate Elvis Presley and email his fanbase. These are just shallow scammers preying on people. Don't fall for it; and if you have received a communication like this, post it here to help warn others.

UK is a popular destination for a Masters Degree in Cyber Security.

New Scotland Yard or Metropolitan Police Force is one of the Best in the World.

Why then do such Criminals not get apprehended?
Why do the People put up with such nonsense?
Where & What is the Government busy with?

Isn't this simply a Failure on part of the Law Authorities to not be able to protect the common taxpayers?

P.S. - funny! U folks have the power to bomb a country just on mere suspicion that they own WMDs, & your Ally hangs the Man who once Owned the Key to Detroit City...but you cannot deal with third world nations goons looting your people day in n day out... Ironically Funny!
(I feel pitiful & sorry for you folks)

Keeping silly sarcasm aside...
& Concentrating on some constructive measures..
Here are a few Options.

"
If you are currently being subjected to a live and ongoing cyber-attack then please contact us on 101.

If you suspect you’ve been scammed, defrauded or experienced cyber crime, the Action Fraud team can also provide the help, support and advice you need.

Someone on the Forum mentioned that BitCoins are Trackable & Traceable.
The Cyber Police could make good Use of those Bit Wallet Addresses & Hopefully track down the Culprit/s.

(My bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is: 17wkbqoaUCUUxw3N1QocutFJTH47Zb8jPQ)

Someone else mentioned TNS Twitter has Over 50k Followers.
Social networking could be used to reach out to the general public in an Awareness campaign.
And also Support could be Gathered to combat the problem in a combined manner.

I've noticed this ain't a singled out incidence.
TNS is frequently targeted.
That in itself is enough to rile up anyone.
And being a prominent public figure, one is Always susceptible to emotional, mental or physical damage.

The Worse might be yet to come...

I received these emails and did not go to porn sites. They said they had videos of me yet I keep tape on my camera. This is obviously a email sent to thousands of people relying on them to respond in guilt once you do that they have you.I told them to go ahead and mail these so called video to all my email contacts .Of course they never did because there were no videos. This scam only works if you answer it.Its what they are looking for.

Retracting on my Statements...

It's easy for Someone who's not in a prominent position to Blame another who holds an administrative position.

The Cyber Security Officials might be thwarting tens of hundreds or maybe even thousands of cyber attacks per week.

Hence Accusing them of incompetent & inaction wouldn't be correct.

Surely those in positions might be working hard to keep general masses out of harms way, without alerting or creating a hype about it.

Hoping Cyber Experts all over the globe are able to squash this Evil once in for all.

P.S. - a good bet would be to keep Alerting authorities about these Scams.

I refused to respond to that mail because I felt something was wrong. However, the idea that they have videos of me scared me even though I didn't have such content. It's miraculous how a person can become unsure of what he knows he did/didn't do. This case of cyber spam motivated me to research further, and I asked for help and guidance from the experts whose papers you can check here (https://phdessay.com/free-essays-on/cyber-bullying/) and read some examples. Cyber bullying became a widespread crime, and I determined that technology can harm people if it does not correspond. The free essays on cyber attacks brought me valuable information on the topic.

Simply paying 3 or 4 dollars a month for a VPN can stop it all or browsers such as TOR or Goduckgo will hide all your info and you can't be traced back for you email or IP address. They use a VPN in the browser. There are many other browsers that do the same thing I recommend if you going to visit adult site that you use one of these browsers.
Thats also how you get the illegal download letter they record all the IP addresses make the service provider identify them send emails to all of them and if you answer it they got you.I got those letters too and ignored  them A VPN hides everything I pay the 4 dollars.
Actually its not true the service provider did not identify me they forwarded the email to me from the people who said I was illegally downloading music and videos.
The way they get your email address is if your logged in to anything such as the browser or social media they can scan cookies for a possible email address if you not logged into anything and you dump your cookies they can't get it.

There is a site called " what is my IP address " if you want to see the info showing and there will be a google map pinpointing your exact location.Cookies also can hold all sorts of info name address phone number email address and it can be scanned they all have access to the cookie file.
Of course that kind of info would come from a site you log into and freely gave that information to which could be in the cookie left by the site..

It seems like a particularly malicious email scam is currently circulating. These messages pretend to know your password and threaten to send a video of you to all your contacts if you don't send a certain amount of money via bitcoin within 24 hours. Do not worry- this is a scam! While the password may appear to be correct, it is more than likely one that was stolen from a data breach long ago. In fact, some scammers have already been able to successfully net a large amount of money via this scam. To protect yourself, never respond to suspicious emails and never send money requested in such an email. Be sure to also change your passwords regularly and avoid using the same passwords for different websites or accounts.
