i believe both O2 and CO2 are essential particles that are being inhaled during normal respiration.

Oxygen is, but carbon dioxide is not. Carbon dioxide is a waste product of respiration and the air is normally less than 1% carbon dioxide (compared to about 21% oxygen).

in my opinion it is wrong for anyone to even consider attempting to persuade someone else to kill himself/herself because suicide by itself is not something morally and ethically acceptable.

I'm  finding  recently  that  many  questions  always  seem  to  have  several  answers  and  the  subject   and  question  becomes  a  paradox  answers  rather  than  an  absolute  answer.

1) Does  anybody  have  the  right  to  dictate  other  lives!

2) Isn't  it  our  responsibility  to  sometimes  protect  people  from  themselves  because  we  have  empathy!

Right  or  wrong  is  a  difficult  choice  but  there  is  one  thing  of  which  I  am  certain,  committing  suicide  because  somebody  told  you  too  or  in  the  name  of  some  cause,  would  be  an  act  of  self  stupidity.

New Theories / Re: Whats the money-shot of science today?
« on: 15/10/2018 22:44:15 »
Constructing  an  underwater  safe  haven  on  Earth ,  although  at  first  it  sounds  a  good  idea, it  is  actually  a  poor  idea.

The  reason  for  this  is  a  very  simple  reason,  you  wouldn't  lock  yourself  in  a  room  on  a sinking  ship  if  there  was  no  hope  of  rescue.

My  personal  opinion  on  scientific  funded  areas  are  that  the  funds  should  always  focus  on  ''things''  needed  for  survival  in  the  long  term.  In  the  event  of  a  worldly  disaster  the  only  really  significant  thing  that  stands  out  that  is  needed,   is  an  escape  route.

That  said,  the  importance  of  understanding  gravity  would  in  my  opinion  be  a  key  aspect  in  humanities  survival.

Rockets,  certainly  are  a  primitive  and  a  poor  form  of  universal  travel  that  have  limitations  such  as  fuel  capacity  and  human  capacity.  Although  we  might  consider  something  similar  to  a   star  ship  out  of  the  Star  Trek  series  to  be  sci-fi,   maybe  it  is  about  time  we  tried  to  bring  sc-fi  to reality  and  create  such  star  ships.
Many  people  may  consider  this  a  far  fetched  reality  but  if   we  can  fully  unlock  the  secrets  of  gravity,  then  the  potential  may  be  there.

Just Chat! / Re: Would it be wrong to try to get somebody kill themselves?
« on: 15/10/2018 18:03:46 »
Generally considered a Bad Thing to try to persuade anyone to kill himself, but I think it is equally indefensible to bully anyone into staying alive if he genuinely wants to die. This is where the law needs a serious review. Suicide and attempted suicide are not illegal in the UK if you are sufficiently fit and compos mentis to make all the arrangements yourself. The problem arises always and only if you are so sick, disabled, distressed  or mentally incompetent that you need help: it is a crime to assist a suicide.

So suicide is statutorily denied to those who need it most. In a marginal case, where someone seeks legal assistance (as with Dignitas) it has been argued that a third party purchasing your plane tickets or driving you to the airport, is guilty of assisting a suicide. Fortunately the Crown Prosecution Service has usually ruled that such prosecution would not be in the public interest thus establishing a sensible precedent that should be embodied in statute.

This is a particulary important topic given online bullying where the bullies try to encourage their victim to commit suicide. More support required in this area.

Physiology & Medicine / Re: Why do people punish themselves sometimes?
« on: 26/09/2018 11:04:01 »
I think that some people punish themselves so severely that they seek escape in addictions - to work, alcohol and other drugs, gambling, sex and/or computer games. Or watching TV, listening to music incessantly, social media or discussion forums (fora?).

What do you mean by "punish themselves"?

Are you referring to "punishment" in the Max Moseley sense (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1033319/Our-kinky-games-Max-Mosley-Girls-tell-sex-session-Grand-Prix-boss--deny-Nazi-orgy.html) or do you mean people self-harming as a means of psychological release, or people who inflict self-deprivation to atone for a perceived failure or expunge feelings of regret?

New Theories / Wave function neuro distortion by spectral scrolling in an inertia stasis.
« on: 22/09/2018 14:39:56 »
Wave function neuro distortion by spectral scrolling in an inertia stasis, what this means in simple terms is that sitting down and viewing the internet for prolonged amount of time can cause a motion sickness by the constant nature of scrolling up and down the screen in checking threads , looking for new content.
The wave lengths of light emitted from the screen experiencing wave fluctuations by the scrolling actions, especially if the researcher is scrolling in a manic manner.

Any questions welcome.  :)

Well, we could assume that- but it would be silly, because it's meaningless.
So is the rest of your post.

I can not fathom out why you keep saying my posts are  meaningless Mr  Bored Chemist, it is very meaningful and a reflection of reality. The very information your brain is now reading on the screen is passive information by light to your brain that stimulates your neuron activity and memory of the words .

Please close your eyes if you do not want to receive further visual information into you mind, additionally can you please add argument to the post rather than saying a generalized term of 'meaningless'. I am sure the readers would want to know what your actual objection is and the reason why.

Thanks

Physiology & Medicine / Re: Is there such thing as emotional violence?
« on: 17/09/2018 21:38:47 »
Emotional abuse is definitely more likely to be a problem in close relationships (as in family, school or work), when it is hard or impossible to avoid interaction, and especially when there is an inherent asymmetry to the relationship (parent-child or boss-underling), but it is definitely possible for a single interaction to be emotionally abusive and devastating.

I would count terrorism as primarily an emotional weapon. Yes, there are often some victims who are physically injured or killed, but the primary target is the psyche of a community. Also threats of physical or social harm can be particularly hurtful even when made by a stranger in passing.

There are ways to protect oneself from emotional attacks, but context is very important, and can change what might be appropriate, so I don't want to just suggest random strategies without knowing more, other than: if it feels harmful, it probably is, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's malicious (some people are just clueless @$$h0les)

Is our brain a holographic computer ?
The answer to this is complex ,  our brains being a biomass that we could assume is interwoven with photons .  At the point center of the thought ''matrix''  of each individual there is a void of nothingness where no thing exists.  ''Surrounding'' this center point we may assume is information contained within/as  the surrounding photons.
Once a Photon enters the point center of nothingness, the photon then is ''read'' as information and perceived as a thought by the individual.  In saying that , we could consider a thought,  is untangled information , an isolation from the entangled chaos of surrounding information.
A new term for this , we could define:  a central information point of the thought process (CIP)

It is quite likely to speed up the removal of some drugs because it's a diuretic.
On the whole, it's complicated.

This one is from "e" - "admin@warheads2foreheadsproductions.com"

You'll note that the price is now even lower - we're down at US$600 now, so this appears to be bargain bucket porn guilt revenge. Clearly it's worth keeping the spammers waiting - the longer they wait the lower the price. At this rate they will be paying me!

More seriously, this message is almost certainly not written by the same group; it uses shoddy English, contains none of the plausibility of the first wave (that contained passwords for added authenticity) and has a totally different tone.

Amazingly, the "soft" also waited for the (presumably hard) viewer to have an "oanaism" before it saved their contact list. Clever - computer software that can remotely recognise the moment of an "oanism". Shame it still can't implement spellcheck really.

The most likely explanation is that this is a bunch of people piggy-backing off the idea of the first lot, who actually made themselves a reasonable amount of money out of frightened people who paid up.

Please don't fall for this scam. But also watch out for the websites you visit - many are now incorporating all kinds of nefarious code with consequences like cryptojacking...

Physiology & Medicine / Re: Could someone get dopesick from fentanyl administration in a clinical setting?
« on: 09/08/2018 18:09:38 »
I have no first-hand experience with "dopesickness," but my theoretical understanding suggests that there might be two cases that should be distinguished, and I will use alcohol as an example because I am familiar with that first hand (and I expect many others are as well):
• There is the equivalent of a hangover, which can certainly occur after a single use, and despite being unpleasant is fairly short in duration.
• And then there are the DTs (which I have not experienced myself, but have observed their effects in others), which is an extreme case of withdrawal by an alcohol-dependent person--this can lead to hallucinations and seizures and is a long, painful and dangerous process.
