This was at one time considered an un answerable question but modern physics enables us to calculate an answer.
If the correct translation of the Greek is used an angel is seen to be a messenger not the Valkyrie like figure we see on our war memorials.
QM tells us that the forces between sub atomic particles are mediated by messenger particles, if we know the energy of these particles surely they can be said to have a size which can be correlated with the area of a pin head

It depends how you define "pin head".  A brass "drawing pin" has a bigger head diameter than a silvery sewing pin.

Isn't the basic problem this: everyone knows that pinheads really exist. Because everyone has seen an actual pinhead.  In physical,tangible, measurable, physical reality.  Pinheads are real. They can wound you and make your finger bleed.

But your so-called "messenger particles"  aren't the same at all.  They're just mathematical abstractions, which some theoretical physicists have invented, in a praiseworthy attempt to make sense of the Universe.

It's like the "Higg's Boson".  Who really believes that there actually is such a thing?  I bet not many physicists do, at the bottom of their hearts.

Assuming that at least one angel can dance on the head of a pin then arbitrarily many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
Not necessarily at the same time and as long as they don't wear it out.

That we, the universe, and all, build from the simple to complicated, and the world of ideas is the ultimate result of it, just as real as 'constants'. Actually read a guy involved in both physics and biology as I remember present an idea where 'entropy' more or less demanded life from 'life less' particles. Think I will write about that one later. Just hope I can find the article :)
