Dear Cosmological Constants (Ian !)

These people are the epitome of the birth of the Universe !

Seems reasonable to me..lots of foam with life within it !...(and probably in a corner somewhere some new life is being created !!)


I understand that "foam" "preceded" the Big Bang !...Quantum Foam that is !!

So, what is this foam ?.....

Can I just say that in my infantile speculations could "Time" have existed before the Big Bang ?...just a different time in a different place ?

If time is the 4th dimension of this universe then it could not have existed before the universe began. However, there may be other universes that existed before our universe began & they would each have their own version of time - possibly - ish - sort of.

Thanks Eth,...this is what I was getting at by a  'different place '.....

Something had to spark off the big bang yes ?..(Quantum foam perhaps)........

...perhaps the birth of 'time' itself causes the formation of the cosmos as it creates a Universe to exist in !..

But what caused this 'quantum foam'? Parts of the Big Band Theory leave themselves vulnerable to theist attack.

What I meant is that if universe A is, say, 10 billion years old, and then, in another part of the foam our universe is spawned, then time in universe A would have existed before our universe began.
