Physiology & Medicine / Re: What is the evidence for scar-healing treatments?
« on: Today at 06:55:12 »
2021-04-23. It has been 14 months & 4 days since the silicon tape was applied to the scar 24x7 on 2020-06-27.

Disappointingly, there has been no  clear noticeable improvement.
However, the tape gives protection against pain caused by clothes rubbing against it. So I persevere hoping one day it may show significant improvement.

COVID-19 / Re: Does a high prevalence of virus in the community lead to a higher mutation rate?

There has been an extensive "family tree" of SARS-COV2 RNA sequences created since the Wuhan RNA sequence was leaked to scientists outside China.
The RNA sequence was shared to Australia. Not leaked.

Technology / Using ions to electrify space debris to slow down in earth's magnetic field
« on: 03/06/2020 07:49:15 »
To tackle the problem of space debris above earth, does it look practical to use ion gun satellites to shoot ions into orbits  so as to electrify small sized space debris, so that they would be slowed down by the earth's magnetic field and eventually burn up above earth?

COVID-19 / Re: How is it possible for a test to get it wrong 75% of the time?
« on: 07/04/2020 08:11:42 »
covid-19 usually infect the lining of the throat first, so testing a proper throat swap would detect the virus pending on the sensitivity of the test.
What if a whiff of viruses went straight into the lungs through deep breathing?  Then the virus is difficult to detect early on, and these are usually diagnosed through a CT scan (3D sectional photos of the lungs).
The precence of the virus in blood is a clear indicator of infection, but the blood does not get infected early on.
The virus may also be present in the faeces.
Even asymtomatic patients can transmit the virus.
So basically, no single simple test can reliably detect an infection early on to ascertain who is not infected.

Therefore, social distancing needs to be maintained to avoid infection.

New Theories / Re: Could the Covid 19 virus be used as a type of germ warfare?
« on: 07/04/2020 07:46:58 »
I am sure that lots of entities, be they individuals, small groups, mega cults, .  .  .   have been inspired by the devastation of covid-19 that biological methods of attack can be very cheap, easy to make, devastating, and difficult to trace who did it.
To keep the viruses, wouldn't refrigerated test tubes be sufficient?
If not, they just need a constant supply of hosts.

After the warnings of the best minds, delivered prominently through Bill Gates since 2015, I think defence ought to take a completely new look, whether this massive wasted race of technical fire arms can ever make the world safer.
