As a long time podcast listener (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) I just want to say that this week's show was fantastic (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/).
The long interview about Sediba was a gem. I listened to it twice (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/), and I don't often do that. I had heard him interviewed before, back when he first announced the discovery, but never in such depth, and of course he had new things to talk about since then. I found his more philosophical discussions, such as what does it mean for science that this incredibly rich area was missed for a century while paleontologists visited the area regularly, yet it was so obvious that a 7-year-old found it. And the questions it raises. What he didn't discuss very much was what happened there those millions of years ago. I hadn't realized that all of those bones, proto-human and animal, all happened in just a few days. What caused that? And how many Sediba were there in the world then? Was that an extinction event for them?
But that is why science is fascinating -- every set of answers leads to more questions.
