there is a radio show from LA that has a yearly competition for bands to submit their best 'science' related music.. some of the songs are just brilliant.

In order to help your brain to recollect what you have revised you should revise in similar conditions to an exam room. This means in silence. It is the same as when you go upstairs to get something and then when you get up there you have forgotten what you went up for. The only way to remember is to go back to the place where you first had the thought. So if you revise with party music on then the only way you will do well in the exam is if the exam room is a disco. I don't think this will happen. Sorry to be a party pooper. OOPS, just pooped myself too.

There was a study studied on studying, and bettering ones ability thereof, that agrees with MIL. The subjects chewed chewing gum while studying and then some took an exam while chewing gum and others while not chewing.. the results indicated that the ones that 'replicated study conditions' performed better on the exams.
