I hope I am using the proper term. Are virtual particles those which only have a transient existence?
I remember reading "flatland" by Abbot.
Is it under consideration that these "transient" particles are passing in and out of space-time from some unknown dimension to another?

This is probably a good place to start looking at virtual particles.

Flatland, on the other hand, is a good place to start looking at a lot of odd things. :)

There are no such things as I think. Exchange it for indeterminism, with probabilities of becoming (outcomes), and I will find it easier to digest.
